Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
Psalm 90:1-2
As we step into a new year, our hearts naturally wonder what lies ahead. Will this year bring joy or sorrow? Success or struggle? Peace or chaos?
In our uncertainty, we find comfort in knowing that, while everything around us changes, our God remains constant. Moses understood this truth deeply when he wrote Psalm 90. He had witnessed God’s faithfulness through decades of wilderness wandering, seeing how the Lord remained steadfast even when His people wavered. The same God who led Moses is the God who leads us today.
Unlike us, God exists outside the boundaries of time. He doesn’t age, grow weary, or change His mind based on circumstances. When we feel overwhelmed by life’s uncertainties, we can anchor our hearts in His unchanging character. His love for you today is the same as it was yesterday—and the same as it will be tomorrow.
This eternal perspective changes everything. Instead of being tossed about by every wind of change, we can rest in the stability of our unchanging God. He is your refuge in every season, your constant in every variable, your peace in every storm.
As you begin this new year, remember: the God who has carried you through every previous year is the same God who will walk with you through the days ahead. His character, His promises, and His love for you will never change.
Anchor For Today:
Time marches on. Years and days go by. All may change…but Jesus Christ never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
