Nahumu aliitwa na Bwana kutabiri hukumu juu ya watu wale wale ambao Yona alikuwa amewahubiria kwa kusitasita na ambao walikuwa wametubu. Lakini wakati ulikuwa umepita, na watu wa Ninawi walikuwa wamerudi kwenye njia zao mbaya. Katika sura ya kwanza, tunasoma kuhusu tangazo la hukumu; katika sura ya 2, kuhusu nguvu ya hukumu; na katika sura ya 3, kuhusu mwisho wa hukumu hiyo. Sura tatu za hukumu zinamzunguka nabii huyu!<\/p><p>Lakini mstari wetu unasimama kama mnara wa taa, ukiangaza tumaini katika usiku wa giza kwa wote wanaopita! Katika mstari huu mmoja, tunaona mambo matatu.<\/p><p>Kwanza, tunasoma kuhusu wema wa Mungu. Huenda hili lisingekuwa ndilo tunaloweza kueleza. Huenda tungesema, \u201cBwana ni mtakatifu,\u201d au \u201cBwana ni mkuu,\u201d lakini Nahumu anatangaza wema wa Bwana! Bwana ni mwema kimaadili, kiadili, na kivitendo. Daudi angetukumbusha kwamba Bwana ni mwema na anafanya mema (Zab. 119:68). Wema wa Bwana ulifunuliwa kwa watu kama Musa na Yeremia (Kut. 33:19; 34:6; Maombolezo 3:25). Wema huu wa Mungu ulionyeshwa katika maisha yote ya Bwana Yesu alipozunguka-zunguka akitenda mema (Matendo 10:38).<\/p><p>Nahumu angeweza kutangaza, hata katika hukumu, kwamba Bwana ni mwema kwa sababu Yeye ni ngome kwa wote wanaomtumaini. Yeye ni kimbilio na mahali pa usalama wakati wa shida (Zab. 46:1-2). Ujumbe wa Nahumu uko wazi: Bwana anaweza kuwaokoa wale wanaomgeukia kutoka kwa ukali wa hukumu ambayo ingeangukia Ninawi hivi karibuni.<\/p><p>Bwana alikuwa mvumilivu kwa mji huu, kama alivyo na wanadamu leo. Petro anatukumbusha, \u201cBwana hakawii kutimiza ahadi yake, kama wengine wanavyodhani kukawia, bali huvumilia kwetu, maana hapendi mtu yeyote apotee, bali wote wafikilie toba\u201d (2 Pet. 3:9).<\/p><p>Kama vile hukumu ilivyokuja Ninawi, inawajia wote wanaokataa wokovu wa Mungu kupitia Mwanawe. \u201cKwa maana Mungu hakumtuma Mwanawe ulimwenguni ili auhukumu ulimwengu, bali ulimwengu uokolewe katika Yeye\u201d (Yoh. 3:17).<\/p><p><strong>Mtangazaji wa Leo:<\/strong><br \/>Leo, kuna mnara wa taa unaoangaza injili ya neema ya Mungu, ukiangaza ujumbe: Mungu anakupenda! Ameandaa njia ya wokovu kwenye Msalaba wa Yesu Kristo.
