\u201c"Kwa nini watu ni wakali sana? Ukarimu umetokea nini?" karani wa duka la mboga aliuliza baada ya mteja aliyekuwa mbele yangu kuwa mkorofi sana. Lazima nikubaliane naye kwamba wema ni kitu ambacho hakipo katika jamii yetu leo, lakini kinapaswa kuonekana wazi katika maisha ya Wakristo. Kwa kweli hakuna sababu ya sisi kuwa wakorofi kamwe.<\/p>

Ukarimu ni mojawapo ya sifa za Mungu Mwenyewe. Mara nyingi huhusishwa na rehema Yake:<\/p>

\u201cBWANA akapita mbele yake, akatangaza, BWANA, BWANA, Mungu mwingi wa huruma, mwenye fadhili, mpole wa hasira, mwingi wa rehema na kweli, mwenye kuwaonea huruma watu elfu elfu, mwenye kusamehe uovu na makosa na dhambi; wala hatamhesabia mtu mwovu kuwa hana hatia kamwe; mwenye kuwapatiliza watoto uovu wa baba zao, na wana wa wana wao, hata kizazi cha tatu na cha nne\u2018 (Kut. 34:6\u20137).<\/p><\/blockquote>

Ukarimu ni mojawapo ya vipengele vya tunda la Roho vinavyopaswa kuonyeshwa katika maisha yetu. Neno la Kigiriki linalotumika katika Agano Jipya ni chrestoti<\/em>, ambayo inatoa wazo la kuwajali wengine kwa upole. Ni hamu ya kweli ya kuwatendea wengine kwa upole, kama vile Bwana alivyotutendea sisi.<\/p>

Tunasoma kuhusu wema wa Mungu katika Waefeso 2:4\u20137:<\/p>

\u201c"Lakini Mungu, kwa kuwa ni mwingi wa rehema, kwa upendo wake mkuu aliotupenda, hata tulipokuwa wafu kwa sababu ya makosa, alituhuisha pamoja na Kristo (kwa neema mmeokolewa), akatufufua pamoja, akatuketisha pamoja katika ulimwengu wa roho katika Kristo Yesu, ili katika zamani zijazo aonyeshe wingi wa neema yake upitao kiasi kwa wema wake kwetu sisi katika Kristo Yesu."\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>

Tunaagizwa \u201ctuwe wakarimu ninyi kwa ninyi, wenye huruma, mkisameheana, kama vile Mungu katika Kristo alivyowasamehe ninyi\u201d (Efe. 4:32). Paulo pia alimkumbusha Timotheo, \u201cMtumishi wa Bwana hapaswi kugombana; bali awe mpole kwa wote, awezaye kufundisha, mvumilivu\u201d (2 Tim. 2:24).<\/p>

Tunahitaji tu kutazama maisha ya Bwana Yesu kama mfano kamili wa jinsi wema unavyopaswa kuonekana. Siku zote alikuwa na wakati wa kuonyesha wema kwa mwenye ukoma ambaye kila mtu mwingine alimwona kuwa mchafu (Mathayo 8:1\u20134), kwa vipofu, kwa vilema, na kwa waliotengwa.<\/p>

Tunasoma katika Matendo 10:38 kwamba \u201cMungu alimtia Yesu wa Nazareti mafuta kwa Roho Mtakatifu na nguvu, naye akazunguka-zunguka akitenda mema na kuponya wote walioonewa na Ibilisi; kwa maana Mungu alikuwa pamoja naye.\u201d<\/p>
