Wakafika ng'ambo ya bahari, mpaka nchi ya Wagerasi. Na alipokwisha kushuka chomboni, mara alikutana na mtu mmoja, ametoka makaburini, mwenye pepo mchafu; makao yake yalikuwa makaburini; wala hakuna mtu aliyeweza kumfunga, hata kwa minyororo; kwa sababu alikuwa amefungwa mara nyingi kwa pingu na minyororo; minyororo ilikuwa imevunjwa naye, na pingu zilivunjika vipande vipande; wala hakuna mtu aliyeweza kumshinda.

<\/em><\/p>

Unaposoma Marko 5:1\u201320, unatambulishwa kwa mtu ambaye ni picha dhahiri ya jinsi maisha bila Kristo yanavyoonekana. Tunaweza kusema mtu huyu anawakilisha hali ya kila mtu mbali na Bwana Yesu. Alikuwa chini ya ushawishi wa Shetani, mchafu, uchi, akiishi kati ya vifo, bila makazi, katika uchungu, asiyeweza kudhibitiwa, na hatari.<\/p>

Tulikuwa bila tumaini na bila Mungu duniani (Waefeso 2:12).<\/p>

Lakini mtu huyu alikutana na Kristo\u2014na ilileta tofauti kubwa. Alikombolewa, akaponywa, na akaumbwa kiumbe kipya chenye kusudi jipya maishani. Kristo alimwona katika hali hii mbaya, akachukua hatua, na akatoa pepo mchafu (Marko 5:8).<\/p>

Ukweli huo huo unaendelea katika Waefeso 2: \u201c"Lakini Mungu, kwa kuwa ni mwingi wa rehema, kwa upendo wake mkuu aliotupenda, hata tulipokuwa wafu kwa sababu ya makosa yetu, alituhuisha pamoja na Kristo (kwa neema mmeokolewa), akatufufua pamoja naye, akatuketisha pamoja katika ulimwengu wa roho, katika Kristo Yesu, ili katika zamani zijazo audhihirishe wingi wa neema yake upitao kiasi, kwa wema wake kwetu sisi katika Kristo Yesu. Kwa maana mmeokolewa kwa neema kwa njia ya imani; ambayo hiyo haikutokana na nafsi zenu; ni kipawa cha Mungu; si kwa matendo, mtu awaye yote asije akajisifu. Kwa maana sisi tu kazi yake, tuliumbwa katika Kristo Yesu kwa matendo mema, ambayo Mungu aliyatengeneza tokea awali ili tuenende nayo."\u201d<\/em><\/p>
