Kuzaliwa Kutoka Juu<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Palikuwa na mtu mmoja wa Mafarisayo, jina lake Nikodemo, mkuu wa Wayahudi. Huyu alimjia Yesu usiku, akamwambia, Rabi, tunajua ya kuwa wewe u mwalimu, umetoka kwa Mungu; kwa maana hakuna mtu awezaye kufanya ishara hizi uzifanyazo wewe, isipokuwa Mungu yu pamoja naye.\u201c

Nikodemo alikuwa amevutwa kwa Bwana Yesu kwa ishara alizomwona akizifanya. Huenda alikuwa miongoni mwa wale waliotajwa mwishoni mwa sura ya pili:
\u201c"Na alipokuwa Yerusalemu wakati wa Pasaka, wakati wa sikukuu, watu wengi waliamini jina lake walipoona ishara alizofanya. Lakini Yesu hakujikabidhi kwao, kwa sababu aliwajua wote, wala hakuwa na haja ya mtu kushuhudia habari za mwanadamu; kwa maana alijua yaliyomo ndani ya mwanadamu" (Yohana 2:23-25).<\/p>

Tunaambiwa kwamba Nikodemo alikuwa Farisayo\u2014mmoja wa walinzi wa Sheria\u2014lakini kuna maelezo mengine yanayomfuata katika Injili yote ya Yohana: alikuja kwa Yesu usiku. Maelezo haya yametajwa angalau mara tatu (Yohana 3:2; 7:50; 19:39). Kwa sababu hii, wengine wamemwita mwanafunzi wa siri wa Bwana. Hata hivyo, baada ya kifo cha Yesu, Nikodemo hakuwa msiri tena. Alijitambulisha waziwazi na wale waliomwakilisha Kristo aliyesulubiwa\u2014lakini aliyefufuka.<\/p>

Hapa, Bwana Yesu anafunua jinsi mtu yeyote \u201canavyozaliwa kutoka juu.\u201d Kuzaliwa huku kupya huja kupitia maji\u2014ambayo yanawakilisha Neno la Mungu (Waefeso 5:26; 1 Petro 1:23)\u2014na kupitia Roho wa Mungu. Katika kukutana kwake na Kristo, Nikodemo alijifunza kwamba kuzaliwa upya ni kazi ya Mungu kabisa. Hakufanikiwi kwa utendaji wa nje bali hupokelewa kupitia kuzaliwa kutoka juu.<\/p>
