Kusanyiko la Korintho lilikuwa na matatizo mengi, na moja ya yale ya kwanza yaliyotajwa ni kwamba yalikuwa yanamlenga mwanadamu badala ya Kristo. Tunaona hili katika sura ya kwanza ambapo Paulo aliandika:<\/p>

\u201c"Basi, ndugu, nawasihi, kwa jina la Bwana wetu Yesu Kristo, kwamba nyote mseme jambo moja; wala pasiwe na faraka kati yenu, bali munganishwe kikamilifu katika nia moja na shauri moja. Kwa maana nimearifiwa habari zenu, ndugu zangu, na wale wa nyumbani mwa Kloe, ya kwamba kuna magomvi kati yenu. Basi nasema hivi, ya kwamba kila mmoja wenu husema, Mimi ni wa Paulo; au, Mimi ni wa Apolo; au, Mimi ni wa Kefa; au, Mimi ni wa Kristo." Je, Kristo amegawanyika? Je, Paulo alisulubiwa kwa ajili yenu? Au mlibatizwa kwa jina la Paulo?"\u2018<\/em> (1 Kor. 1:10\u201313).<\/p>

Ni rahisi kwetu kumwinua mtu wa Mungu, tukielekeza macho yetu kwenye zawadi ambayo Kristo ameipa mwili (Efe. 4:11), badala ya kumtazama Mtoaji wa zawadi Mwenyewe. Mara mbili katika kifungu chetu tunasoma, \u201c"Lakini Mungu ndiye aliyekuza"\u201d<\/em> na \u201c"lakini Mungu ndiye anayekuza."\u201d<\/em> Tunda lolote lililokuja, au litakalokuja, ni kwa sababu Mungu ndiye anayekuza. Chombo anachotumia ni njia tu\u2014na hakuna zaidi.<\/p>
