Observe que a fonte dessa santifica\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 o Deus da paz. O alcance dessa ora\u00e7\u00e3o abrange todas as partes do ser deles. Ele n\u00e3o est\u00e1 orando para que a natureza pecaminosa seja erradicada, mas para que cada parte deles \u2014 esp\u00edrito, alma e corpo \u2014 seja separada para Deus.<\/p><p>Fomos feitos \u00e0 imagem de Deus. Ele \u00e9 um Ser trino, e n\u00f3s tamb\u00e9m. As Escrituras ensinam que Deus \u00e9 Deus Pai, Deus Filho e Deus Esp\u00edrito Santo. As Escrituras tamb\u00e9m ensinam que somos compostos de tr\u00eas partes, e Deus deseja que cada parte de n\u00f3s seja separada para os Seus prop\u00f3sitos e para a Sua gl\u00f3ria. Permitam-me abordar brevemente essas tr\u00eas partes, conforme nos s\u00e3o apresentadas aqui.<\/p><p>Nosso esp\u00edrito \u00e9 a parte de n\u00f3s que nos permite ter comunh\u00e3o com Deus. \u00c9 a parte de n\u00f3s que nos permite compreender e raciocinar. Romanos 8:16 diz: \u201cO pr\u00f3prio Esp\u00edrito testifica com o nosso esp\u00edrito que somos filhos de Deus\u201d. Podemos dizer, ent\u00e3o, que nosso esp\u00edrito \u00e9 nossa consci\u00eancia de Deus, ou aquilo que nos leva a ter consci\u00eancia de Deus. Isso se relaciona com nossa vida espiritual, afetando nossa adora\u00e7\u00e3o e nossa vida de ora\u00e7\u00e3o. Deus deseja que sejamos separados de tudo o que nos contamina, como diz 2 Cor\u00edntios 7:1: \u201cPurifiquemo-nos de toda impureza da carne e do esp\u00edrito, aperfei\u00e7oando a santidade no temor de Deus\u201d. Isso para que nada desvie o testemunho do Esp\u00edrito Santo em nossas vidas em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao nosso relacionamento com Deus como Seus filhos (Romanos 8:16), e para que nada impe\u00e7a ou dificulte nossa adora\u00e7\u00e3o, porque Deus busca adoradores, e aqueles que \u201co adoram devem ador\u00e1-lo em esp\u00edrito e em verdade\u201d (Jo\u00e3o 4:23-24).<\/p><p>Nossa alma est\u00e1 relacionada \u00e0s nossas emo\u00e7\u00f5es, desejos, afetos e propens\u00f5es. A palavra &quot;alma&quot; aqui \u00e9 a origem do termo &quot;ps\u00edquico&quot;. Ela tem mais a ver com nossa autoconsci\u00eancia. O Senhor usa essa mesma palavra em Jo\u00e3o 12:27, quando disse: &quot;A minha alma est\u00e1 perturbada; e o que direi? Pai, salva-me desta hora? Mas foi para isto que eu vim a esta hora&quot;. Nossa alma, que \u00e9 a sede de nossas emo\u00e7\u00f5es, deve ser separada dos maus pensamentos: &quot;Mas o que sai da boca vem do cora\u00e7\u00e3o, e \u00e9 isso que contamina o homem. Porque do cora\u00e7\u00e3o procedem os maus pensamentos, homic\u00eddios, adult\u00e9rios, imoralidade sexual, roubos, falsos testemunhos e blasf\u00eamias. Estas coisas contaminam o homem&quot; (Mateus 15:18-19). Devemos nos abster dos apetites carnais que guerreiam contra a alma (1 Pedro 2:11).<\/p><p>Nosso corpo \u00e9 a casa onde habitamos, \u201cnossa casa terrena\u201d, como nos lembra 2 Cor\u00edntios 5:1. Isso, poder\u00edamos dizer, tem mais a ver com nossa consci\u00eancia terrena. Nosso corpo tamb\u00e9m deve ser preservado da impureza e de usos malignos (1 Tessalonicenses 4:3-8; Romanos 6:19).<\/p><p>O Senhor deseja que todas as tr\u00eas \u00e1reas de nossas vidas \u2014 esp\u00edrito, alma e corpo \u2014 sejam santificadas.
