Ela \u00e9 usada, por exemplo, com esse significado comum e cotidiano na par\u00e1bola do tesouro escondido no campo, que motivou o homem a comprar (resgatar) o campo (Mateus 13:44). Em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 nossa salva\u00e7\u00e3o, a palavra significa pagar o pre\u00e7o que o pecado exigiu para que pud\u00e9ssemos ser redimidos. Vemos em Apocalipse 5:9 que o Cordeiro \u00e9 adorado porque foi o Seu sangue que nos redimiu para Deus. Em 1 Cor\u00edntios 6:19-20, somos lembrados de que \u201cvoc\u00eas foram comprados (redimidos) por um pre\u00e7o; portanto, glorifiquem a Deus no corpo e no esp\u00edrito de voc\u00eas, que pertencem a Deus\u201d.\u201d<\/p><p>A segunda palavra \u00e9 a mesma palavra b\u00e1sica com uma preposi\u00e7\u00e3o adicionada como prefixo, intensificando seu significado. Isso confere \u00e0 palavra a ideia de \u201creden\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d. Essa palavra nos lembra que a morte de Cristo n\u00e3o apenas pagou o pre\u00e7o pelo pecado, mas tamb\u00e9m nos libertou do mercado do pecado, dando-nos a plena certeza de que jamais retornaremos \u00e0 escravid\u00e3o e \u00e0s penalidades do pecado. Essa verdade \u00e9 elaborada no livro de G\u00e1latas. L\u00e1, Paulo nos diz que a morte de Cristo serviu para \u201credimir os que estavam debaixo da lei\u201d (G\u00e1latas 4:5). Ele tamb\u00e9m diz que \u201cCristo nos resgatou da maldi\u00e7\u00e3o da lei, fazendo-se maldi\u00e7\u00e3o por n\u00f3s\u201d (G\u00e1latas 3:13). Est\u00e1vamos \u201cescravizados pelos rudimentos do mundo\u201d (G\u00e1latas 4:3). Esse segundo uso da palavra reden\u00e7\u00e3o nos lembra que os crentes s\u00e3o colocados em uma nova posi\u00e7\u00e3o em Cristo em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 lei e a este mundo.<\/p><p>A terceira palavra frequentemente usada para reden\u00e7\u00e3o significa \u201clibertar\u201d ou \u201csoltar mediante o pagamento de um pre\u00e7o\u201d. O meio dessa liberta\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 a obra vic\u00e1ria de Cristo. Foi isso que Paulo declarou quando escreveu: \u201cPorque h\u00e1 um s\u00f3 Deus e um s\u00f3 Mediador entre Deus e os homens, Cristo Jesus, homem, que se deu a si mesmo em resgate por todos\u201d (1 Tim\u00f3teo 2:5-6). O fundamento, ou base, da nossa reden\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 o sangue de Cristo. Hebreus 9:12 nos lembra que obtivemos a reden\u00e7\u00e3o eterna por meio do Seu sangue. Pedro declara: \u201csabendo que n\u00e3o foi com coisas corrupt\u00edveis, como prata ou ouro, que fostes resgatados\u2026 mas com o precioso sangue de Cristo, como de um cordeiro sem defeito e sem m\u00e1cula\u201d (1 Pedro 1:18-19).<\/p><p><strong>\u00c2ncora de hoje:<\/strong><br \/>A morte de Cristo e nossa reden\u00e7\u00e3o devem ter um efeito moral na maneira como vivemos aqui.
