Pedro, ap\u00f3stolo de Jesus Cristo, aos peregrinos da Dispers\u00e3o no Ponto, Gal\u00e1cia, Capad\u00f3cia, \u00c1sia e Bit\u00ednia.
<\/em>1 Pedro 1:1-2<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/div>

O ap\u00f3stolo Pedro escreve esta carta aos crentes que vivem em um mundo hostil \u2014 hostil \u00e0queles que desejam viver para Cristo.<\/p>

Embora estejam dispersos pela regi\u00e3o, Pedro quer que eles reconhe\u00e7am sua posi\u00e7\u00e3o em Cristo. Ele os chama de peregrinos, ou seja, aqueles que n\u00e3o pertencem \u00e0quele lugar, que est\u00e3o apenas de passagem, que n\u00e3o est\u00e3o em casa, mas em terra estrangeira. Ele queria que eles tivessem consci\u00eancia de que sua \u201ccidadania est\u00e1 nos c\u00e9us\u201d (Filipenses 3:20) e que essa cidadania deve vir em primeiro lugar. Podem ser cidad\u00e3os do Imp\u00e9rio Romano, mas s\u00e3o, na verdade, peregrinos de Deus, estrangeiros espirituais em busca de uma \u201ccidade que tem fundamentos, cujo arquiteto e construtor \u00e9 Deus\u201d (Hebreus 11:10). Isso implica que sua cidadania terrena \u00e9 secund\u00e1ria. Eles deveriam se ver como vivendo temporariamente em um ambiente estrangeiro (cf. 1 Pedro 2:11-12).<\/p>

Pedro n\u00e3o lhes diz para se retirarem do mundo, para um mosteiro, isolados do mundo hostil em que viviam. Em vez disso, seu desejo era proteg\u00ea-los com o ensinamento que os fortaleceria e os consolidaria para resistir ao diabo (5:7) e \u201cestarem preparados para responder a todo aquele que lhes pedir a raz\u00e3o da esperan\u00e7a que h\u00e1 em voc\u00eas, com mansid\u00e3o e temor\u201d (3:15). O crente hoje est\u00e1 constantemente nadando contra a corrente deste mundo. Se perdermos de vista nossa posi\u00e7\u00e3o neste mundo, ficaremos desanimados. Devemos manter os olhos fixos na esperan\u00e7a celestial, contemplando-a ao longe, abra\u00e7ando-a e confessando que somos \u201cestrangeiros e peregrinos na terra\u201d (Hb 11:13).<\/p>
