O medo havia se apoderado de seu cora\u00e7\u00e3o, e quando h\u00e1 tal medo, n\u00e3o h\u00e1 for\u00e7a para ir contra a corrente do mundo ao nosso redor. Um acr\u00f4nimo para medo \u00e9: Medo \u00e9 Energia Sem F\u00e9 e Recuo. Paulo n\u00e3o queria isso para Tim\u00f3teo; ele n\u00e3o queria que Tim\u00f3teo se envergonhasse de Cristo. Paulo aponta para Tim\u00f3teo um recurso maravilhoso que todo crente possui, e esse recurso \u00e9 o Homem na Gl\u00f3ria! <em data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"912\">Cristo Jesus<\/em> \u00c9 usado pelo menos sete vezes e se refere ao Senhor Jesus no c\u00e9u, \u00e0 direita de Deus \u2014 um lugar de poder, autoridade e recursos para todo crente, n\u00e3o importa o caos que possa existir em sua cultura.<\/p><p data-start=\"1113\" data-end=\"1869\">Paulo compreendeu o medo de Tim\u00f3teo, mas o encorajou compartilhando sua pr\u00f3pria experi\u00eancia e confian\u00e7a, dizendo: \u201cPor essa raz\u00e3o, tamb\u00e9m eu sofro essas coisas; contudo, n\u00e3o me envergonho, porque sei em quem tenho crido e estou certo de que ele \u00e9 poderoso para guardar o meu dep\u00f3sito at\u00e9 aquele dia\u201d (2 Tim\u00f3teo 1:12). Neste vers\u00edculo, Paulo lembra a Tim\u00f3teo \u2014 e a n\u00f3s \u2014 que precisamos de conhecimento pessoal de nosso Deus. Ele p\u00f4de dizer: \u201cEu sei em quem tenho crido\u201d. Em seguida, ele nos lembra que deve haver convic\u00e7\u00e3o pessoal: \u201cEstou certo de que ele \u00e9 poderoso para guardar o meu dep\u00f3sito\u201d. Terceiro, Paulo nos encoraja a ter compromisso pessoal: \u201cGuarda o meu dep\u00f3sito\u201d. A confian\u00e7a de Paulo n\u00e3o estava nele mesmo, mas em seu Deus, que \u00e9 poderoso! Isso demonstra o poder e a for\u00e7a do nosso Deus.<\/p><p data-start=\"1871\" data-end=\"2616\">Quando nosso foco est\u00e1 em Cristo, em Seu poder e majestade, seremos capazes de nos apegar firmemente ao padr\u00e3o das s\u00e3s palavras (2 Tim\u00f3teo 1:13). A ideia de ter um padr\u00e3o de s\u00e3s palavras evoca a ideia de um esbo\u00e7o em nossas mentes e ressalta a import\u00e2ncia de sabermos no que cremos e por que cremos. Pedro nos lembra, como seguidores de Jesus Cristo, de \u201csantificar a Cristo como Senhor em nossos cora\u00e7\u00f5es, estando sempre preparados para responder a qualquer pessoa que lhes pedir a raz\u00e3o da esperan\u00e7a que h\u00e1 em voc\u00eas. Fa\u00e7am isso com mansid\u00e3o e temor\u201d (1 Pedro 3:15). Para isso, precisamos saber no que cremos e por que cremos.
