O povo de Jud\u00e1 havia perdido a gratid\u00e3o pelo amor de Deus por eles. Mois\u00e9s os havia lembrado, <em data-start=\"304\" data-end=\"507\">\u201cVoc\u00eas s\u00e3o um povo santo para o Senhor, o seu Deus; o Senhor, o seu Deus, os escolheu para serem o seu povo, um tesouro especial dentre todos os povos da face da terra\u2026 porque o Senhor os ama.\u201d<\/em> (Deuteron\u00f4mio 7:6-8). Mais tarde, Jeremias os assegurou do amor eterno de Deus: <em data-start=\"576\" data-end=\"621\">\u201cEu te amei com um amor eterno\u201d<\/em> (Jeremias 31:3).<\/p><p data-start=\"636\" data-end=\"974\">Deus havia demonstrado Seu amor de maneiras tang\u00edveis \u2014 escolhendo-os em vez dos descendentes de Esa\u00fa, ajudando-os a retornar do ex\u00edlio e reconstruir lugares desolados, e permitindo que testemunhassem Sua grandeza manifestada al\u00e9m das fronteiras de Israel (Ml 1:2-5). Contudo, apesar de tudo isso, eles ainda O questionavam, perguntando:, <em data-start=\"940\" data-end=\"974\">\u201cDe que maneira nos amaste?\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1472\">Hoje em dia n\u00e3o somos t\u00e3o diferentes. Nossos cora\u00e7\u00f5es podem facilmente se tornar insens\u00edveis ao Seu amor, e nos esquecemos disso. <em data-start=\"1074\" data-end=\"1191\">\u201cNisto consiste o amor: n\u00e3o em que n\u00f3s tenhamos amado a Deus, mas em que ele nos amou e enviou seu Filho como propicia\u00e7\u00e3o pelos nossos pecados.\u201d<\/em> (1 Jo\u00e3o 4:10). Quando perdemos de vista o Seu grande amor por n\u00f3s, nossos cora\u00e7\u00f5es lentamente se desviam para outras coisas. Foi exatamente isso que aconteceu com a igreja em \u00c9feso \u2014 eles abandonaram o seu primeiro amor (Apocalipse 2:4). Embora ocupados com muitas boas atividades, o seu afeto por Cristo havia esfriado.<\/p><p data-start=\"1474\" data-end=\"1779\">O mesmo aconteceu com Jud\u00e1 nos dias de Malaquias. Eles come\u00e7aram a buscar prosperidade material como prova do amor de Deus e se tornaram cegos para tudo o que Ele j\u00e1 havia feito por eles.
