Daarom maakte hij voor hem een veelkleurig gewaad.\u201d<br \/><strong>Genesis 37:3<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Ik liet een pak aanmeten voor een bruiloft toen de kleermaker zei: &quot;De kleren maken de man!&quot; Als dat waar is, wat moeten we dan zeggen over deze man, Jozef, en de verschillende kledingstukken die hij droeg? Gedurende zijn leven worden er verschillende soorten kledingstukken genoemd die hem werden aangetrokken of van hem werden afgenomen. Wat kunnen we leren over Jozef en zijn kleding?<\/p><p>De veelkleurige mantel, ofwel zijn tuniek, was een bijzonder gewaad dat hij van zijn vader had gekregen. Het was een duidelijk teken van aanzien en een symbool van de gunst van zijn vader! Als volgelingen van Jezus Christus worden ook wij door onze Vader begenadigd door Zijn genade en behoren wij elke dag van ons leven in het goede van deze genade te leven. Deze kledingstukken van gunst werden kledingstukken van lijden toen zijn broers hem de gunst die Jozef werd bewezen kwalijk namen (Genesis 37:23-24). Terwijl we de kleding van Zijn genade dragen, herinnert Petrus ons eraan: &quot;Leid uw gedrag tot eer onder de heidenen, zodat zij, wanneer zij u als kwaaddoeners beschuldigen, door uw goede werken die zij zien, God verheerlijken op de dag van de bezoeking&quot; (1 Petrus 2:12).<\/p><p>Toen Jozef in het huis van Potifar was, werd hij aangevallen door Potifars vrouw. Ze greep hem bij zijn kleed en probeerde hem daarmee te beschuldigen van een aanval op haar. Maar dit kleed was voor Jozef een symbool van integriteit. Hoewel hij leed, bleef zijn integriteit intact. Petrus herinnert ons er nogmaals aan: &quot;Want wat voor verdienste is het als u gestraft wordt voor uw daden en dat geduldig verdraagt? Maar als u goed doet en lijdt, en dat geduldig verdraagt, dan is dat prijzenswaardig voor God&quot; (1 Petrus 2:20).<\/p><p>Jozef ruilde zijn gevangeniskleding, die we kleding van beproeving zouden kunnen noemen, in voor kleding van verheffing (Genesis 41:14, 42). Dit herinnert ons eraan dat wanneer we de Heer eren in onze beproevingen en moeilijkheden, door Hem op de eerste plaats te zetten, Hij ons zal eren!<\/p><p>Het laatste kledingstuk dat Jozef verruilde, noem ik het kleed van het geloof. Hij gaf opdracht om zijn lichaam terug te brengen naar het beloofde land (Genesis 50:24-26). Als gelovigen weten wij: &quot;Als ons aardse huis, deze tent, wordt afgebroken, dan hebben wij een gebouw van God, een huis dat niet met handen gemaakt is, een eeuwig huis in de hemel... Want wij die in deze tent wonen, zuchten, omdat wij belast zijn, niet omdat wij ontkleed willen worden, maar juist omdat wij meer bekleed willen worden, opdat het sterfelijke leven door het leven wordt opgeslokt&quot; (2 Korinti\u00ebrs 5:1, 4).<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Welke kleding we ook dragen tijdens onze levensreis \u2013 of het nu kleding van gunst, lijden, beproevingen of verheffing is \u2013 mogen we in trouw aan de Heer wandelen, wetende dat we op een dag in Zijn aanwezigheid met heerlijkheid bekleed zullen worden!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Garments Of Joseph \u201cNow Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age.
