En zijn ziekte was zo ernstig dat hij geen adem meer had.\u201d<\/em><br \/><em><strong>1 Koningen 17:17<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Elia had zich in de nabijheid van de Heer verborgen gehouden, en het resultaat was dat hij Gods voorzienigheid in zijn leven zag, doordat de raven hem dagelijks van voedsel voorzagen. Vervolgens ervoer hij het voorrecht door de Heer gebruikt te worden om het leven van de weduwe van Zarephath te raken en haar Gods genade te tonen. Haar enige zoon was doodziek, en ze wendde zich tot Elia en zei: &#039;Wat heb ik met u te maken, man Gods? Bent u gekomen om mij aan mijn zonden te herinneren en mijn zoon te doden?&#039; Ze stortte haar hart uit bij de man Gods. We horen haar diepe pijn en voelen met haar mee in haar verdriet. Wat kon er nu nog gedaan worden, nu haar zoon dood was? Hij had geen adem meer.<\/p><p>Elia had zich alleen met God teruggetrokken, en we zien nog een resultaat van die waardevolle tijd. Ten eerste zien we hem mededogen tonen in deze tijd van crisis. Hij neemt haar zoon mee naar de bovenkamer en stort zijn hart uit bij de Heer, waarbij hij zijn vertrouwen in God toont door zich over de jongen uit te strekken en te bidden: &quot;O HEER, mijn God, ik bid, laat de ziel van dit kind tot Hem terugkeren.&quot; Elia toont de kracht van de opstanding.<\/p><p>Via Elia, de man die zich verborgen had gehouden, zou God Zichzelf niet alleen openbaren als de Gever van het Leven, maar ook als de Gever van het Leven die in staat is iets te doen wat geen mens ooit zou kunnen: de dood overwinnen.<\/p><p>Elia&#039;s God was machtiger dan de weduwe besefte. Hij voorzag in meer dan een paar handjes meel en olie. Hij was volkomen toereikend, meer dan genoeg. Geconfronteerd met zo&#039;n wonder, keek ze Elia aan en kon alleen maar zeggen: &#039;Nu weet ik dat u een man van God bent en dat het woord van de HEER in uw mond waarheid is&#039; (1 Koningen 17:24).<\/p><p>Elia ervoer wat Paulus in zijn eigen leven wilde meemaken: &quot;Opdat ik Hem mag kennen en de kracht van Zijn opstanding, en de gemeenschap van Zijn lijden, en gelijkvormig mag worden aan Zijn dood&quot; (Filippenzen 3:10).<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>De kracht van God kan door ons heen zichtbaar worden wanneer we ons in Zijn aanwezigheid terugtrekken!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Power Of A Hidden Life \u201cNow it happened after these things that the son of the woman who owned the house became sick.
