Hij deed wat recht was in de ogen van de HEER en wandelde in de wegen van zijn vader David; hij week niet af naar rechts of naar links.\u201d<\/em><br \/><em><strong>2 Kronieken 34:1-2<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Josia voegt zich bij twee andere koningen van wie gezegd wordt dat zij &quot;deden wat recht was in de ogen van de HEER&quot;. Van Jehosafat, Hizkia en Josia wordt gezegd dat zij allen &quot;recht&quot; hebben gedaan in de ogen van de Heer.<\/p><p>Het woord &#039;recht&#039; kan in verband worden gebracht met het woord &#039;gezegend&#039; in Psalm 1, waar we lezen: &#039;Gelukkig is de man die niet wandelt in de raad van de goddelozen, noch staat op de weg der zondaren, noch zit op de zetel der spotters, maar wiens vreugde is in de wet van de HEER, en die over Zijn wet mediteert dag en nacht. Hij zal zijn als een boom geplant aan de waterstromen, die zijn vrucht draagt op zijn tijd, waarvan het blad niet verdort; en al wat hij doet, zal voorspoedig zijn.&#039; Het woord &#039;gezegend&#039; kan vertaald worden als &#039;gelukkig&#039;. De weg naar een gelukkig leven is doen wat recht is in de ogen van de Heer!<\/p><p>Gehoorzaamheid is de sleutel tot een vervuld en bevredigend leven voor de Heer. Alles minder dan volledige gehoorzaamheid laat een leegte achter in het hart, en we kunnen geen ware voldoening en volkomen tevredenheid vinden. David herinnert ons eraan: &quot;Hoe kan een jongeman zijn weg reinigen? Door acht te slaan op Uw woord. Met heel mijn hart heb ik U gezocht; laat mij toch niet afdwalen van Uw geboden! Uw woord heb ik in mijn hart bewaard, opdat ik niet tegen U zondig&quot; (Psalm 119:9-11).<\/p><p>Dit soort geloof en gehoorzaamheid aan het Woord van God was te vinden in Timote\u00fcs, zoals we zien in Paulus&#039; instructie aan hem: &quot;Laat niemand je jeugd verachten, maar wees een voorbeeld voor de gelovigen in woord, in gedrag, in liefde, in geest, in geloof en in reinheid&quot; (1 Tim. 4:12). Paulus noemde zijn geloof &quot;echt geloof&quot; in 2 Timote\u00fcs 1:5, en Timote\u00fcs had al van jongs af aan een hart om het Woord van God te gehoorzamen (2 Tim. 3:15).<\/p><p>Er zijn veel overeenkomsten tussen Josia en Timothe\u00fcs, en in beide gevallen beloonde de Heer hen omdat ze gehoor gaven aan Zijn Woord.<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>En hoe zit het met ons vandaag? Wat is ons antwoord op het Woord van God? Het is goed om te onthouden: &quot;Want de ogen van de HEER gaan de hele aarde rond om Zijn kracht te tonen ten behoeve van hen die Hem van harte trouw zijn&quot; (2 Kronieken 16:9).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Right In The Sight Of The Lord \u201cJosiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem.
