Ze zijn de Rode Zee overgestoken en de Heer heeft Farao en zijn leger overwonnen. Een prachtig beeld van onze verlossing \u2013 dat we zijn bevrijd uit het rijk der duisternis en verlost van de zonde.<\/p><p>Na de overtocht door de Rode Zee lezen we het eerste lied dat in de Schrift voor ons is opgetekend. Het is een lofzang op de Heer. Dit zou de reactie van ons eigen hart moeten zijn wanneer we de bevrijdende kracht van God overwegen.<\/p><p>Maar in vers 22 lezen we dat het volk Isra\u00ebl beproevingen begon te doorstaan in de woestijn. Ze kwamen bij Mara, wat &#039;bitter&#039; betekent. Ze konden het water niet drinken. De woestijn was een ruige plek. Het zand was heet. De zon brandde fel. En het volk had geen verfrissing. Ze mopperden tegen Mozes omdat de beproevingen te zwaar voor hen waren.\u00a0<\/p><p>Mozes roept tot de Heer en de Heer voorziet in Zijn genade in de oplossing. Hij laat Mozes een boom zien, en wanneer die boom in het water wordt geworpen, wordt het bittere water zoet. Wat een prachtig beeld van het kruis van Christus dat wordt ingezet in de moeilijkheden en situaties die ons belasten.\u00a0<\/p><p>Vervolgens geeft de Heer hen de opdracht naar Zijn stem te luisteren en te doen wat recht is in Zijn ogen. Hier openbaart Hij Zich aan Zijn volk als de Heer die hen geneest en hen verkwikt tijdens hun tocht door de woestijn.<\/p><p>In Zijn barmhartigheid is Hij precies in staat om dat in ons leven te doen. Hij verandert de bittere ervaringen van dit leven in leermomenten voor ons, en door die ervaringen laat Hij ons groeien tot Zijn eer. Dit is wat we lezen over Epafroditus in Filippenzen 2:25-30. In deze naam zien we Goddelijke Barmhartigheid, of mededogen, en worden we herinnerd aan Klaagliederen 3:22-26.<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong> De Heer Jezus is in staat onze bittere ervaringen in zegeningen om te zetten, en Hij geeft ons de verkwikking die we nodig hebben, moment voor moment, totdat Hij ons in het huis van de Vader brengt.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The LORD Who
