Deze naam komt uit Exodus 17:15, waar Mozes het altaar deze naam geeft nadat de HEER hen de overwinning op de Amalekieten had geschonken.<\/p><p>Amalek was de eerste vijand waarmee Isra\u00ebl in de woestijn te maken kreeg. Het is een beeld van het vlees. Amalek was een uitdager voor het volk van God, net zoals het vlees een uitdaging is waarmee gelovigen moeten strijden. De overwinning voor Isra\u00ebl was verzekerd toen Mozes zijn handen opstak. Hier zien we een voorafbeelding van de voorspraak van de Heer Jezus in de hemel voor ons.\u00a0<\/p><p>In Filippenzen 1 vinden we Paulus&#039; getuigenis: &quot;Want voor mij is leven Christus, en sterven winst&quot; (Fil. 1:21). Vervolgens zien we in de verzen 27-30 zeven praktische manieren waarop de gelovige &quot;Christus kan leven&quot; terwijl we nog op aarde zijn. We moeten ons gedragen op een manier die het evangelie waardig is; standvastig zijn; zij aan zij strijden met andere gelovigen; niet bang zijn voor onze tegenstanders; ons bewust zijn van Gods gunst; bereid zijn te lijden; en betrokken zijn bij de strijd.<\/p><p>Midden in deze praktische aansporingen ontdekken we dat God de bron van onze redding is. Paulus zegt dat hun redding \u201cvan God\u201d komt (vers 28). Hij is Degene die ons de kracht en het vermogen geeft om die dingen te doen die laten zien dat Christus in ons leeft. We zijn geroepen om stand te houden, te strijden, te lijden en de strijd aan te gaan, maar we doen dat niet op eigen kracht. Degene onder wiens banier we staan, is Degene die ons voorziet van wat we nodig hebben voor de strijd.<\/p><p>Het christelijke leven is niet zonder conflicten. In deze wereld zullen we beproevingen meemaken. Er zijn tegenstanders voor de gelovige en vijanden van het kruis van Christus. Maar in alle conflicten bewijst God Zichzelf als onze Jehovah Nissi \u2013 onze Banier. Een eensgezinde geest stelt ons in staat om vreugde te ervaren te midden van de strijd.<\/p><p>Deze eerste naam van God, die we in Filippenzen terugvinden, spreekt over goddelijke bescherming. Jehovah Nissi is onze banier in de strijd.<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Net zoals Isra\u00ebls overwinning op Amalek van de Heer kwam, komt ons vermogen om standvastig te blijven en &quot;Christus te leven&quot; te midden van tegenstand ook van Hem.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The LORD Our Banner
