Het is elke ochtend nieuw; groot is Uw trouw.\u201d<br \/><strong>Klaagliederen 3:22-23<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Barmhartigheid is te zien in het leven van elke gelovige! Een prachtig voorbeeld van barmhartigheid vinden we in Lucas 10 met het verhaal van de Goede Samaritaan. Toen de Goede Samaritaan de wonden verbond van de man die was geslagen en beroofd, toonde hij hem barmhartigheid. Toen hij hem naar de dichtstbijzijnde herberg bracht en voor zijn onderdak betaalde tot hij genezen was, toonde hij genade! Zijn barmhartigheid verlichtte de pijn en zijn genade zorgde voor de genezing!<\/p><p>De meest voor de hand liggende manier waarop we barmhartigheid kunnen tonen, is door fysieke daden, zoals de Goede Samaritaan deed. Zoals de Heer Jezus specifiek gebood, moeten we de hongerigen voeden, de naakten kleden, de zieken en gevangenen bezoeken en praktische hulp bieden waar we kunnen! In Matte\u00fcs 5:7 zegt de Heer: &quot;Zalig zijn de barmhartigen, want zij zullen barmhartigheid ontvangen.&quot; Dit idee van barmhartigheid tonen is niet alleen een idee uit het Nieuwe Testament. Kijk eens wat Deuteronomium 15:7-8 zegt over barmhartigheid tonen: &quot;Als er onder u een arme broeder is, binnen een van de poorten van uw land dat de HEER, uw God, u geeft, dan zult u uw hart niet verharden en uw hand niet sluiten voor uw arme broeder, maar u zult uw hand wijd voor hem openen en hem graag genoeg lenen voor wat hij nodig heeft, wat hij ook nodig heeft.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p>Paulus herinnert ons eraan: &quot;Daarom, als uitverkorenen van God, heiligen en geliefden, bekleed u met barmhartigheid, vriendelijkheid, nederigheid, zachtmoedigheid en geduld; verdraag elkaar en vergeef elkaar, als iemand een klacht tegen een ander heeft; zoals Christus u vergeven heeft, zo moet ook u doen.&quot;\u201c\u00a0<\/p><p>Barmhartigheid moet blijken uit onze houding \u00e9n onze daden. Barmhartigheid koestert geen wrok, maakt geen misbruik van andermans tekortkomingen of zwakheden en brengt andermans zonden niet in het openbaar.<\/p><p>Barmhartigheid toont medelijden, zoals de Heer Jezus deed vanaf het kruis toen Hij kon zeggen: &quot;Vader, vergeef hen, want zij weten niet wat zij doen&quot; (Lucas 23:34). Tegen de berouwvolle dief aan het kruis kon barmhartigheid zeggen: &quot;Voorwaar, Ik zeg u: heden zult u met Mij in het paradijs zijn&quot; (vers 43).<\/p><p>Barmhartigheid moet blijken uit de manier waarop we elkaar terechtwijzen: &quot;Wees nederig en terechtwijs degenen die zich verzetten, opdat God hun misschien berouw schenkt, zodat ze de waarheid leren kennen...&quot; (2 Tim. 2:25). Judas sluit zich hierbij aan en zegt: &quot;Blijf in de liefde van God en verwacht de barmhartigheid van onze Heer Jezus Christus tot het eeuwige leven. Wees barmhartig jegens sommigen en maak onderscheid, maar red anderen met vrees, trek hen uit het vuur en haat zelfs het kleed dat door het vlees bezoedeld is&quot; (Judas 21-23).<\/p><p>We kunnen ook zeggen dat we barmhartigheid kunnen tonen door voor elkaar te bidden en de verlorenen te bereiken.<\/p><p>In Matte\u00fcs 18:23-35 vertelt de Heer Jezus de gelijkenis van de onvergevende dienaar. De eerste dienaar had een grote schuld bij zijn heer die hij niet kon betalen, en hij smeekte zijn heer om geduld met hem te hebben. Je zou kunnen zeggen dat hij om genade smeekte! Maar toen hij vergeven was, ging hij naar iemand die hem veel minder schuldig was, eiste dat elke cent werd terugbetaald en liet hem in de gevangenis gooien. Toen de heer dit hoorde, riep hij hem bij zich en zei tegen hem: &#039;Jij slechte dienaar! Ik heb je die hele schuld vergeven omdat je mij smeekte. Had je dan geen medelijden moeten hebben met je mededienaar, zoals ik jou heb genadig geweest?&#039; (Matte\u00fcs 18:32-33).<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Zoals we hebben gezien, is ons onbeperkte genade bewezen die onze onbetaalbare schuld van zonde kwijtscheldt. We ontvangen elke dag opnieuw genade. Hoe kunnen we dan weigeren om genade te tonen aan degenen die in ons leven komen?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mercy On Display \u201cThrough the LORD\u2019s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
