Hij is de Heer Jezus Christus, die stierf om ons te verlossen van de schuld en de straf voor onze zonden. Vier keer in deze brief aan de Hebree\u00ebn wordt vermeld dat Hij aan de rechterhand van de troon van God zit (1:3; 8:1; 10:12; 12:2). De enige Persoon die in al onze behoeften kan voorzien, zit nu aan de rechterhand van de troon van God. Laten we tot Christus komen. De Bijbel vertelt ons over drie manieren waarop Hij voor ons werkt.<\/p><p><strong>Hij voorziet in onze behoeften door Zijn gebeden.<br \/><\/strong>In zijn brief aan de Romeinen vroeg de apostel Paulus: &quot;Wie is het die veroordeelt? Het is Christus, die gestorven is, ja, die zelfs is opgestaan, die aan de rechterhand van God zit en die ook voor ons pleit&quot; (Romeinen 8:34). Christus veroordeelt ons niet; Hij pleit voor ons. De auteur van de Hebree\u00ebnbrief schreef: &quot;Hij leeft nog steeds om voor hen te pleiten&quot; (Hebree\u00ebn 7:25). Laten we daarom komen.<\/p><p><strong>Hij voorziet in onze behoeften door Zijn macht.<br \/><\/strong>De troon der genade is de plaats van macht, en onze Heer Jezus Christus is de Persoon van macht. We zien \u201cde buitengewone grootheid van Zijn macht jegens ons die geloven, overeenkomstig de werking van Zijn machtige kracht, die Hij in Christus heeft uitgeoefend, toen Hij Hem uit de doden opwekte en Hem aan Zijn rechterhand in de hemelse gewesten plaatste\u201d (Efezi\u00ebrs 1:19-20).<\/p><p>Christus heeft een vermogen dat geen onvermogen kent. Ja, Hij is in staat! Hij is in staat om tot het uiterste te redden (Hebree\u00ebn 7:25). Hij is in staat om ons te behoeden voor de val (Judas 24). Hij is in staat om mensen te helpen die in verleiding komen (Hebree\u00ebn 2:18). Hij is in staat om alle dingen te overwinnen (Filippenzen 3:21).<\/p><p><strong>Hij voorziet in onze behoeften door Zijn priesterschap.<br \/><\/strong>In de tijd van het Oude Testament was het de taak van de priester om namens de kinderen van Isra\u00ebl voor God te verschijnen. Deze goddelijke voorziening was een uiting van de genadige barmhartigheid en zorg van een heilige God voor Zijn kinderen. De priester was de gewijde schakel van de Vader tussen Hem en de zijnen. Niemand anders dan de Zoon van God Zelf zou gekwalificeerd zijn om de Grote Hogepriester over het huis van God te zijn.<\/p><p>\u201cOmdat wij dan een grote hogepriester hebben, die naar de hemel is opgevaren, Jezus, de Zoon van God, laten wij vasthouden aan onze belijdenis. Want wij hebben geen hogepriester die geen medelijden kan hebben met onze zwakheden, maar een die in alle opzichten op dezelfde wijze verzocht is als wij, maar zonder zonde\u201d (Hebree\u00ebn 4:14-15).<\/p><p>We weten waar Hij is: &quot;Hij is naar de hemel gegaan.&quot; We weten wie Hij is: &quot;Jezus, de Zoon van God.&quot; We weten wat Hij is: zondeloos. Hij is een meelevende Hogepriester. Hij heeft geen medelijden met onze zonden, maar met onze &quot;zwakheden&quot;. Deze zwakheden zijn het verdriet, het lijden en de ziekten van dit leven. We weten dat onze Grote Hogepriester meevoelt met onze zwakheden.<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Als je in nood bent, kom dan nu naar Hem toe. Geen probleem is te moeilijk, geen verzoek te onbeduidend en geen macht te groot voor Hem. Laat er geen gebrek aan vertrouwen zijn tussen jou en je Grote Hogepriester. Hij kent je. Hij houdt van je.
