Zijn leven was volmaakt en verheerlijkte en prees God. In Psalm 69 lezen we over de innerlijke gevoelens en het lijden van de Heer Jezus (Ps. 69:2-4, 7-12, 20-21). Maar we zien ook wat zo&#039;n leven tot stand bracht voor Gods glorie, wanneer de psalm profetisch over de Heer zegt: &quot;Ik zal de naam van God met een lied prijzen, en ik zal Hem met dankzegging verheerlijken&quot; (Ps. 69:30).<\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In Hebree\u00ebn 10:5 zien we dat de Heer Jezus degene was die God zou gebruiken om Zichzelf dicht bij ons te brengen. We lezen: &quot;Offer en offergave hebt U niet gewild, maar een lichaam hebt U voor Mij bereid.&quot; Deze woorden komen uit Psalm 40, een psalm die spreekt over de Heer als het brandoffer. Verder staat er: &quot;Laat allen die U zoeken zich verheugen en blij zijn in U; laat allen die Uw verlossing liefhebben voortdurend zeggen: &#039;De Heer zij verheerlijkt!&#039;&quot; (Psalm 40:16).<\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Dit is wat het leven van de Heer Jezus deed. Hij verheerlijkte God op alle mogelijke manieren, en daardoor bracht Hij God ook dichter bij ons. De Schrift zegt: &quot;In het begin was het Woord, en het Woord was bij God, en het Woord was God,&quot; en vervolgens: &quot;Het Woord werd vlees en woonde onder ons, en wij zagen Zijn heerlijkheid, vol van genade en waarheid&quot; (Johannes 1:1, 14). In Johannes 14:9 kon Hij zeggen: &quot;Als u Mij gezien hebt, hebt u de Vader gezien.&quot; Hij verheerlijkte God. Hij was &quot;God geopenbaard in het vlees.&quot; In en door Zijn lichaam bracht Hij God dichter bij ons, zodat wij Zijn grootheid zouden kunnen aanschouwen.<\/p><p>Ook ons leven behoort God te verheerlijken! Ik geloof dat de Schrift ons leert dat ons hele wezen God moet verheerlijken \u2013 onze geest, ziel en lichaam.<\/p><p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Denk aan wat Maria zei in Lucas 1:46: &quot;Mijn ziel verheerlijkt de HEER.&quot; De ziel is de zetel van onze emoties, dus in haar diepste wezen wilde ze haar God verheerlijken. Johannes de Doper had hetzelfde verlangen toen hij over de Heer Jezus zei: &quot;Hij moet groter worden en ik kleiner&quot; (Johannes 3:30).<\/p><p>Ook wij zouden dit verlangen moeten hebben: dat de Heer niet alleen emotioneel in ons diepste wezen verheerlijkt wordt, maar ook in en door ons lichaam. Paulus benadrukt dit wanneer hij zegt: &quot;Of weet u niet dat uw lichaam een tempel is van de Heilige Geest, die in u woont en die u van God hebt ontvangen? U bent immers voor een prijs gekocht; verheerlijk daarom God in uw lichaam en in uw geest, die van God zijn.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Op een heel praktische manier zouden onze levens de Heer nabij moeten brengen, zodat iedereen Hem kan zien!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Life That Magnifies The Lord A life that magnifies the Lord is a life that brings God near to those with whom it comes in contact!
