Dan zal Ik een verbond met u sluiten en u zeer talrijk maken.\u2019<br \/>Genesis 17:1-2<\/em><\/p><p>Dit is de vijfde keer dat we lezen dat de Heer aan Abram verscheen, maar de laatste keer dat God tot hem sprak, was dertien jaar eerder. Abram had de Heer ervaren toen hij in hoofdstuk 12-13 door geloof begon te leven. Hij had het belang van vertrouwen op zijn God geleerd in hoofdstuk 14-15 toen hij door geloof streed. Maar nu, in hoofdstuk 16-17, vinden Abram en zijn vrouw het moeilijk om door geloof op de Heer te wachten. God had het land aan Abram en zijn nakomelingen beloofd, maar ze werden ouder en hadden nog steeds geen kinderen. In hoofdstuk 16 doet Sarai wat wij vaak doen: ze neemt het heft in eigen handen. Ze geeft haar Egyptische dienstmaagd, Hagar, aan Abram, maar dit zorgt alleen maar voor meer problemen!<\/p><p>Vaak doen zich in ons leven situaties voor waarin we proberen de zaken zelf op te lossen, maar daarmee maken we de situatie alleen maar ingewikkelder. De Heer wil niet dat we op onze eigen vindingrijkheid of kracht vertrouwen. Hij wil dat we geloven dat niets te moeilijk voor Hem is en dat Hij een obstakel kan omzetten in een kans om Zijn glorie te tonen!<\/p><p>De Heer openbaart Zich aan Abram als de Almachtige God. Deze naam is samengesteld uit twee woorden: El, wat macht betekent, en Shaddai, wat de gecombineerde gedachte van alle macht en alle toereikendheid in zich draagt. De Heer stond op het punt Abram te vertellen dat Sarai een zoon zou krijgen, zelfs op negentigjarige leeftijd! Abram, Sarai en iedereen dacht dat haar baarmoeder onvruchtbaar was, maar de Heer stond op het punt het onmogelijke te doen. Hij was meer dan toereikend om een wonderbaarlijke geboorte teweeg te brengen!<\/p><p>Net zoals Hij dat met Abram deed, is de Heer in staat Zich aan ons te openbaren door Zijn Woord, precies op de manier die wij nodig hebben. Als je voor een belangrijke beslissing staat of in een onmogelijke situatie terecht bent gekomen, loop dan niet op de Heer vooruit. Wacht tot Hij Zijn kracht en macht openbaart! Abram kreeg de opdracht om voor de Heer te wandelen en onberispelijk te zijn. Paulus herinnert ons eraan: &quot;Hij die zijn eigen Zoon niet gespaard heeft, maar Hem voor ons allen heeft overgeleverd, hoe zal Hij ons dan niet met Hem ook alle dingen schenken?&quot; (Romeinen 8:32). Vertrouw erop dat Hij zal voorzien!<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Wanneer je voor een onmogelijke situatie staat, wandel dan voor het aangezicht van de Heer, volledig aan Hem toegewijd, en Hij zal bewijzen dat Hij een volkomen toereikende God voor je is in tijden van nood.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Almighty God \u201cWhen Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, \u2018I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.
