Want hetgeen ik zeer vreesde, is over mij gekomen, en hetgeen ik vreesde, is mij overkomen.\u201d<br \/><strong>Job 3:24\u201325<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Als we de eerste hoofdstukken van het boek Job lezen, leren we dat Job een man van integriteit was \u2013 een man die God eerbiedigde en het kwaad schuwde. Hij was onberispelijk en rechtschapen. Satan probeerde hem voor God in diskrediet te brengen en kreeg toestemming om alles wat hij bezat af te nemen. Job verloor zijn kinderen en zijn vee, en vervolgens viel Satan hem fysiek aan, hoewel het hem niet was toegestaan Jobs leven te nemen. &quot;In dit alles,&quot; lezen we, &quot;zondigde Job niet en beschuldigde hij God niet van onrecht&quot; (Job 1:22). Jobs enige reactie was: &quot;&#039;Zullen wij dan het goede van God aanvaarden en het tegenspoed niet?&#039; In dit alles zondigde Job niet met zijn lippen.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p>Het is echter interessant om Job te horen zeggen: &quot;Want hetgeen ik zeer vreesde, is mij overkomen, en hetgeen ik vreesde, is mij overkomen.&quot; Hij had een vooropgezette angst dat zoiets zou kunnen gebeuren. We mogen niet toestaan dat de zaadjes van angst in onze geest worden geplant, waardoor we worden be\u00efnvloed en gevuld met zorgen, angst of vrees.<\/p><p>Steeds weer lezen we in de Schrift: &#039;Wees niet bang&#039;, &#039;Vrees niet&#039; en &#039;Maak je geen zorgen&#039;. Deze vermaningen komen herhaaldelijk voor omdat angst een van de gevolgen was van de zonde die in deze wereld kwam. We moeten bedenken dat dit soort angst niet van God komt. We lezen immers: &#039;Omdat de kinderen deel hebben aan vlees en bloed, heeft Hijzelf daar ook deel aan gehad, opdat Hij door de dood de machthebber over de dood, namelijk de duivel, zou vernietigen en hen zou bevrijden die hun hele leven lang door vrees voor de dood in slavernij waren&#039; (Hebree\u00ebn 2:14-15). De Heer Jezus verklaarde ook: &#039;Als de Zoon u dus bevrijdt, zult u werkelijk vrij zijn&#039; (Johannes 8:36).<\/p><p>Timote\u00fcs had de neiging om timide te zijn en zich door angst te laten leiden, net als velen van ons. Maar Paulus herinnerde hem eraan: &quot;Want God heeft ons geen geest van vrees gegeven, maar een geest van kracht, van liefde en van een gezond verstand&quot; (2 Tim. 1:7). In Filippenzen 4:6-7 herinnert Paulus ons eraan dat de manier om van deze vrede te genieten niet is om toe te geven aan onze angsten, maar om op God te vertrouwen en van Hem afhankelijk te zijn: &quot;Wees niet bezorgd over iets, maar laat in alles door gebed en smeekbede, met dankzegging, uw verzoeken aan God bekend worden; en de vrede van God, die alle begrip te boven gaat, zal uw harten en gedachten bewaren in Christus Jezus.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>We mogen niet toestaan dat de zaadjes van angst in onze geest worden gezaaid, waardoor we worden be\u00efnvloed en gevuld met zorgen, angstgevoelens of vrees.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do Not Be Afraid \u201cFor my sighing comes before I eat, and my groanings pour out like water.
