In de Schrift staat niet vermeld om welke berg het precies ging. Sommigen geloven dat het de berg Tabor was, anderen denken dat het de berg Hermon was. Petrus noemde het de heilige berg vanwege wie daar was, wat daar gebeurde en de boodschap die ze daar ontvingen.<\/p><p>Het lijkt erop dat alle drie de discipelen op een bijzondere manier bemoedigd werden door wat ze die dag zagen. De ervaring lijkt elk van hen op een unieke manier te hebben be\u00efnvloed. Voor Johannes versterkte het zijn liefde voor Christus, zoals hij later zo vaak zou schrijven over de liefde van Christus. Voor Jakobus hielp het hem te volharde in wat hem te wachten stond, en hij werd de eerste van de elf discipelen die zijn leven gaf voor de zaak van Christus (Handelingen 12:1-2). Voor Petrus maakte de aanblik van de heerlijkheid van Christus op die heilige berg zo&#039;n grote indruk dat hij later door de Geest van God werd gebruikt om twee brieven over het Koninkrijk te schrijven, waarin hij spreekt over de heerlijkheid die hij aanschouwde.<\/p><p>De boodschap die ons kracht geeft om te volharde, vinden we in de heerlijkheid van de Persoon van de Zoon. Christus is genoeg om ons hart en onze geest te vullen! Een glimp van Zijn heerlijkheid, zoals die aan ons geopenbaard wordt in het Woord van God, kan de moedelozen sterken en ons motiveren om door te gaan met het getuigenis van Christus, in de wetenschap dat de heerlijkheid van de Heer Jezus Christus spoedig geopenbaard zal worden.<\/p><p>Petrus herinnert ons er vervolgens aan: \u201cZo hebben wij het profetische woord bevestigd, waaraan u goed moet luisteren als naar een licht dat schijnt in een donkere plaats, totdat de dag aanbreekt en de morgenster opgaat in uw harten; en weet allereerst dit: geen enkele profetie van de Schrift is voor eigen interpretatie vatbaar, want profetie is nooit voortgekomen uit de wil van de mens, maar heilige mannen Gods hebben gesproken zoals zij door de Heilige Geest werden bewogen\u201d (2 Petrus 1:19-21).<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Hoe meer we ons bezighouden met Gods boodschap aan ons, die te vinden is in de Persoon van Zijn Zoon, hoe meer Hij, als de Morgenster, in onze harten zal oprijzen. Petrus vond grote kracht en bemoediging in deze boodschap, en dat kan ieder van ons ook.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Glimpse Of Glory
