Hij was in den beginne bij God\u201d (Johannes 1:1-2). Hij had geen begin, maar heeft altijd bestaan. Het Woord <em>was<\/em>, Het werkwoord &#039;Eeuwig&#039;, dat in de eerste twee verzen gebruikt wordt, staat in de onvoltooid verleden tijd, wat betekent dat het een voortdurende handeling beschrijft. Dit houdt in dat het Eeuwige Woord voortdurend was wat Hij altijd al was geweest: het Eeuwige Woord en de Eeuwige Zoon. In vers 1 en 2 zien we Hem als het Woord dat al bestond.<\/p><p>In vers 3 lezen we over Hem als het Scheppende Woord: &quot;Alle dingen zijn door Hem gemaakt, en zonder Hem is niets gemaakt van wat gemaakt is.&quot; Het was door Zijn Zoon dat alles tot stand werd gebracht: &quot;God, die vroeger op verschillende manieren tot de vaderen sprak door de profeten, heeft in deze laatste dagen tot ons gesproken door Zijn Zoon, die Hij tot erfgenaam van alle dingen heeft aangesteld, door wie Hij ook de wereld heeft gemaakt&quot; (Hebree\u00ebn 1:1-2). Als Schepper &quot;sprak Hij, en het geschiedde; Hij gebood, en het stond vast&quot; (Psalm 33:9). Hij is de Schepper en Onderhouder van alle dingen, &quot;alles wordt in stand gehouden door het woord van Zijn macht&quot; (Hebree\u00ebn 1:3).<\/p><p>Deze verzen, samen met de verzen 4-5, leren ons ook dat de Heer Jezus het Zelfbestaande Woord is: &quot;In Hem was leven, en het leven was het licht der mensen. En het licht schijnt in de duisternis, en de duisternis heeft het niet begrepen.&quot; Dit verwijst naar meer dan alleen fysiek leven; het spreekt ook over geestelijk leven. Als de Zoon des Mensen was Hij het leven der mensen; als de Zoon van God kon de duisternis Hem niet begrijpen.<\/p><p>Deze gezegende, die het reeds bestaande Woord, het scheppende Woord en het zelfbestaande Woord is, werd het vleesgeworden Woord. Deze die <em>was<\/em>\u2014die voortdurend bleef wat Hij altijd al was geweest\u2014<em>werd<\/em> Wat Hij voorheen niet was geweest. Hoe kon dat? Dat kwam doordat \u201cGod de wereld zo liefhad dat Hij Zijn eniggeboren Zoon gaf, opdat ieder die in Hem gelooft, niet verloren gaat, maar eeuwig leven heeft\u201d (Johannes 3:16).<\/p><p>Dit was lang geleden beloofd en het is geschied door het werk van de Heilige Geest (Jesaja 7:14; Matte\u00fcs 1:18-25; Lucas 1:26-38). Hij was Gods grootste geschenk en Zijn laatste boodschap aan de mensheid (Hebree\u00ebn 1:1-4). Deze waarheid verdient onze diepste overweging en een krachtige verkondiging, waardoor we kunnen zeggen: &quot;Dank zij God voor Zijn onbeschrijflijke gave!&quot; (2 Korinti\u00ebrs 9:15).<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/><em>De Zoon in wie de volheid woont, door wie alle heerlijkheid uitgaat., <\/em><br \/><em>Gij hebt de gedaante van een dienaar aangenomen, opdat de schepselen die God zou kennen; <\/em><br \/><em>Onze bron, ons Hoofd, wij aanbidden U; U bent waardig tot in eeuwigheid.<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The
