Maar jij, man Gods, ontvlucht deze dingen en streef naar gerechtigheid, godsvrucht, geloof, liefde, geduld en zachtmoedigheid.&quot;\u201d<\/em><br \/><em><strong>1 Timote\u00fcs 6:6, 11<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p>Godvruchtigheid wordt vaak vertaald als vroomheid, eerbied of gelijkenis met God. Het beschrijft ware heiligheid, spiritualiteit en deugd. Het woord <em>tevredenheid<\/em> Het betekent &quot;innerlijke zelfredzaamheid&quot;. Het werd vaak gebruikt om iemand te beschrijven die innerlijk in vrede is en niet be\u00efnvloed wordt door uiterlijke omstandigheden \u2013 iemand die op de juiste manier reageert op zijn of haar omgeving.<\/p><p>Wanneer we deze twee woorden combineren, <em>godsvrucht<\/em> En <em>tevredenheid<\/em>, We leren dat beide aspecten zichtbaar moeten zijn in ons leven als volgelingen van Jezus Christus. We moeten een levensstijl hebben die &quot;voortdurend het karakter van God weerspiegelt&quot;.\u201c<\/p><p>Paulus geeft vervolgens vier waarheden die ons helpen een tevreden christelijk leven te leiden dat voortdurend het karakter van God weerspiegelt.<\/p><p>Ten eerste leren we dat tevredenheid niet voortkomt uit bezittingen of rijkdom. Tevredenheid komt voort uit een godvruchtig leven dat in alle omstandigheden op God vertrouwt en van Hem afhankelijk is (2 Korinti\u00ebrs 3:5; Filippenzen 4:11).<\/p><p>Ten tweede zijn materi\u00eble zaken niet blijvend; ze zijn tijdelijk. We hebben niets in de wereld meegebracht en we zullen er ook niets materieels uit meenemen (Job 1:21; Psalm 49:17; Prediker 5:15).<\/p><p>Ten derde voorziet de Heer trouw in onze basisbehoeften. De Heer Jezus zei: &quot;Daarom zeg ik u: maak u geen zorgen over uw leven, over wat u zult eten of drinken, noch over uw lichaam, over wat u zult aantrekken. Is het leven niet meer waard dan voedsel en het lichaam meer dan kleding? Kijk naar de vogels in de lucht: ze zaaien niet, ze maaien niet en ze verzamelen niets in schuren, maar uw hemelse Vader voedt ze. Bent u niet meer waard dan zij?&quot; (Matte\u00fcs 6:25-26).<\/p><p>Ten vierde gebruikt Paulus in de verzen 9-10 het woord <em>wens<\/em>, Dit woord draagt de gedachte in zich van &quot;ten koste van alles&quot; of &quot;een vastberadenheid&quot;. Een verlangen naar rijkdom kan leiden tot zonde in ons leven. Paulus waarschuwt dat zo&#039;n verlangen een valstrik kan worden die leidt tot schadelijke lusten en begeerten, met als gevolg geestelijke ondergang en vernietiging.<\/p><p>Daarentegen daagt Paulus Timote\u00fcs \u2013 en ons \u2013 in vers 11 uit met de juiste verlangens en doelen die kenmerkend zouden moeten zijn voor hen die Christus volgen: &quot;Maar jij, man Gods, ontvlucht deze dingen en streef naar gerechtigheid, godsvrucht, geloof, liefde, geduld en zachtmoedigheid.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Christelijke tevredenheid is een zoete, innerlijke gemoedstoestand, die zich onderwerpt aan en vreugde vindt in Gods beschikking in alle omstandigheden.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Godliness With Contentment &#8220;Now godliness with contentment is great gain\u2026 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.&#8221;1 Timothy 6:6, 11 Godliness is often translated as piety, reverence, or likeness to God.
