Tegen zulke dingen bestaat geen wet.\u201d<br \/><strong data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"179\">Galaten 5:22-23<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"221\" data-end=\"363\">\u201c&#039;Waarom zijn mensen zo gemeen? Waar is de vriendelijkheid gebleven?&#039; vroeg de caissi\u00e8re in de supermarkt nadat de klant voor me erg onbeleefd was geweest. Ik moet haar gelijk geven dat vriendelijkheid iets is wat in onze maatschappij tegenwoordig ontbreekt, maar het zou juist een kenmerk moeten zijn van het leven van christenen. Er is eigenlijk geen enkele reden voor ons om ooit onbeleefd te zijn.<\/p><p data-start=\"561\" data-end=\"653\">Vriendelijkheid is een van de eigenschappen van God zelf. Het wordt vaak in verband gebracht met Zijn barmhartigheid:<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"655\" data-end=\"1046\"><p data-start=\"657\" data-end=\"1046\">\u201cEn de HEER ging voor hem langs en riep uit: \u2018De HEER, de HEER God, barmhartig en genadig, lankmoedig en rijk aan goedheid en waarheid, die duizenden vergeeft, die ongerechtigheid, overtreding en zonde vergeeft, maar de schuldigen geenszins vrijspreekt, maar de ongerechtigheid der vaderen bezoekt aan de kinderen en de kindskinderen tot in de derde en vierde generatie\u2019\u201d (Exodus 34:6-7).<\/p><\/blockquote><p data-start=\"1048\" data-end=\"1336\">Vriendelijkheid is een van de aspecten van de vrucht van de Geest die we in ons leven moeten tonen. Het Griekse woord dat in het Nieuwe Testament wordt gebruikt is <em data-start=\"1188\" data-end=\"1200\">chrestotes<\/em>, Dit brengt het idee van een tedere zorg voor anderen over. Het is een oprecht verlangen om anderen met zachtheid te behandelen, zoals de Heer ons heeft behandeld.<\/p><p data-start=\"1338\" data-end=\"1388\">Over de goedheid van God lezen we in Efezi\u00ebrs 2:4-7:<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"1390\" data-end=\"1787\"><p data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1787\">\u201cMaar God, die rijk is aan barmhartigheid, heeft ons, uit liefde voor ons, toen we nog dood waren door onze overtredingen, samen met Christus levend gemaakt (door genade bent u gered), ons samen opgewekt en ons samen met Christus een plaats gegeven in de hemelse gewesten in Christus Jezus, opdat Hij in de komende eeuwen de overvloed van zijn genade zou tonen in zijn goedheid jegens ons in Christus Jezus.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote><p data-start=\"1789\" data-end=\"2049\">We worden opgeroepen om \u201cvriendelijk te zijn voor elkaar, vol medelijden en vergevingsgezindheid, zoals God jullie in Christus vergeven heeft\u201d (Efezi\u00ebrs 4:32). Paulus herinnerde Timote\u00fcs er ook aan: \u201cEen dienaar van de Heer moet geen ruzie maken, maar vriendelijk zijn voor iedereen, bekwaam om te onderwijzen en geduldig\u201d (2 Timote\u00fcs 2:24).<\/p><p data-start=\"2051\" data-end=\"2306\">We hoeven alleen maar naar het leven van de Heer Jezus te kijken als het perfecte voorbeeld van hoe vriendelijkheid eruit zou moeten zien. Hij had altijd tijd om vriendelijk te zijn tegen de melaatse, die door iedereen als onrein werd beschouwd (Matte\u00fcs 8:1-4), tegen de blinde, de kreupele en de verstotenen.<\/p><p data-start=\"2308\" data-end=\"2501\">In Handelingen 10:38 lezen we dat \u201cGod Jezus van Nazareth met de Heilige Geest en met kracht gezalfd heeft. Hij ging rond en deed goed en genas allen die door de duivel onderdrukt werden, want God was met Hem.\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"2503\" data-end=\"2650\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Wij zijn Zijn handen, Zijn voeten en Zijn spreekbuizen in een wereld vol pijn.
