\u201cMaar de vrucht van de Geest is liefde, vreugde, vrede, geduld, vriendelijkheid, goedheid, trouw, zachtmoedigheid en zelfbeheersing. Tegen zulke dingen bestaat geen wet.\u201d
Galaten 5:22-23<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

De Bijbel heeft veel te zeggen over vruchten. Het woord komt meer dan 100 keer voor in het Oude Testament en ongeveer 70 keer in het Nieuwe Testament. Het prijzen van de Heer (Hebree\u00ebn 13:15), zielen winnen voor Christus (1 Korinti\u00ebrs 16:15) en godvruchtige werken (Kolossenzen 1:10) worden allemaal beschouwd als vormen van vruchten. Maar wanneer Paulus de apostel<\/span><\/span> Wanneer hij spreekt over de vrucht van de Geest, doelt hij vooral op de eigenschappen van Christus die zich vormen in de volgeling van Christus.<\/p>\n

We zouden ons kunnen afvragen: hoe gebeurt dit? Is het het resultaat van een gerichte inspanning van mijn kant als christen? Sta ik 's ochtends op en zeg: "Vandaag ga ik de vrucht van de Geest dragen"? Het dragen van de vrucht van de Geest in mijn leven heeft weinig te maken met bezig zijn met de vrucht zelf, maar alles met bezig zijn met Christus.<\/p>\n

We moeten onze genegenheid en onze gedachten richten op de dingen die boven zijn, waar Christus is (Kol. 3:1-2).<\/p>\n

\u201cAls u dan met Christus bent opgewekt, zoek dan de dingen die boven zijn, waar Christus is, zittend aan de rechterhand van God. Richt uw gedachten op de dingen die boven zijn, niet op de dingen op aarde\u2026 Maar nu moet u zelf al deze dingen afleggen: woede, toorn, kwaadwilligheid, godslastering, vuile taal uit uw mond\u2026 Daarom, als uitverkorenen van God, heiligen en geliefden, bekleed u met barmhartigheid, vriendelijkheid, nederigheid, zachtmoedigheid en geduld\u201d (Kol. 3:1-2, 8, 12).<\/p>\n

De gezondheidswereld leert ons dat we zijn wat we eten. Dit geldt ook voor het geestelijk welzijn. Naarmate we ons voeden met Christus en ons met Hem bezighouden, werkt de Geest van God eraan om Zijn gelijkenis in ons te reproduceren. Deze negen eigenschappen zijn aspecten van goddelijke vruchten in het leven van een gelovige.<\/p>\n

Sommigen hebben geprobeerd deze negen eigenschappen in groepen te verdelen door te zeggen dat de eerste drie op God gericht zijn, de volgende drie betrekking hebben op anderen en de laatste drie op onszelf. Maar in werkelijkheid verlangt de Geest van God dat al deze eigenschappen in elk aspect van ons leven, altijd, zichtbaar zijn, zodat Christus alles en in alles is (Kol. 3:11).<\/p>\n

Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong>
