Tegen zulke dingen bestaat geen wet.\u201d<\/em><br \/><strong><em>Galaten 5:22-23<\/em><\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"181\" data-end=\"361\">Het feit dat dit vers begint met het woord &#039;maar&#039; vertelt ons dat de Geest van God iets tegenover elkaar stelt. Het contrast betreft de werken van het vlees die in de verzen 19-21 worden genoemd:<\/p><p data-start=\"363\" data-end=\"771\">\u201cDe werken van het vlees zijn duidelijk: overspel, ontucht, onreinheid, losbandigheid, afgoderij, toverij, haat, twist, jaloezie, woede-uitbarstingen, zelfzuchtige ambities, verdeeldheid, ketterij, afgunst, moord, dronkenschap, uitspattingen en dergelijke. Ik zeg u van tevoren, zoals ik u ook vroeger heb gezegd, dat zij die zulke dingen doen, het koninkrijk van God niet zullen be\u00ebrven.\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"773\" data-end=\"1364\">Deze twee lijsten staan lijnrecht tegenover elkaar. Iemand heeft gezegd dat &quot;ze als twee tegenover elkaar staande legermachten op het slagveld staan&quot;, wat een treffende vergelijking is, aangezien eerder in dit hoofdstuk <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Paulus de apostel<\/span><\/span> Paulus stelde dat \u201chet vlees tegen de Geest ingaat en de Geest tegen het vlees; en deze twee staan lijnrecht tegenover elkaar, zodat u niet doet wat u wilt\u201d (Gal. 5:17). Vervolgens somt Paulus in de verzen 19-21 vijftien voorbeelden op van de werken van het vlees, en besluit met \u201cen dergelijke\u201d, wat impliceert dat de lijst nog langer zou kunnen zijn.<\/p><p data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1454\">\u201cMaar de vrucht van de Geest\u2026\u201d Laten we de vraag stellen: Wat is de vrucht van de Geest?<\/p><p data-start=\"1456\" data-end=\"1705\">Merk allereerst op dat het de <em data-start=\"1484\" data-end=\"1491\">fruit<\/em> van de Geest, niet de <em data-start=\"1515\" data-end=\"1523\">vruchten<\/em> van de Geest. Het woord is enkelvoud, met negen aspecten die tot uiting moeten komen in het leven van een volgeling van Jezus Christus. Het is het leven van Christus in mij dat door mij heen wordt geleefd.<\/p><p data-start=\"1707\" data-end=\"2073\">In <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Evangelie van Johannes<\/span><\/span> 15. De Heer Jezus sprak over vrucht dragen, meer vrucht dragen en vrucht dragen die blijft. Hij herinnert ons eraan dat de enige manier waarop we vrucht kunnen dragen tot Gods eer, is door in Hem te blijven: &quot;Ik ben de wijnstok, jullie zijn de ranken. Wie in Mij blijft en Ik in hem, die draagt veel vrucht, want zonder Mij kunnen jullie niets doen&quot; (Johannes 15:5).<\/p><p data-start=\"2075\" data-end=\"2400\">De vrucht van de Geest is een bewijs van het leven van Christus in een persoon. Deze kenmerken vloeien voort uit het hart van iemand die in de Geest wandelt (Gal. 5:16) en zich door de Geest van God laat leiden (Gal. 5:18). Romeinen 8:14 herinnert ons eraan: &quot;Want allen die door de Geest van God geleid worden, zijn kinderen van God.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p data-start=\"2402\" data-end=\"2671\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Wanneer we door de Geest geleid worden, zal Zijn vrucht uit ons leven voortvloeien, wat aantoont dat we in de Geest leven (Gal. 5:25).
