Positionele heiliging verwijst naar het objectieve feit dat God een zondaar neemt en hem of haar tot Zijn unieke kind maakt. Hij zet gelovigen apart als Zijn bijzondere volk. Het gebruik van de term &#039;heiliging&#039; hier benadrukt het unieke werk van de Heilige Geest, waardoor we het evangelie door geloof gehoorzamen, zodat we door het bloed van Christus besprenkeld kunnen worden.<\/p><p>Positionele heiligheid verwijst naar onze positie voor God als een bijzonder volk. Dit aspect van onze heiliging vormt de basis van wat vaak progressieve of praktische heiliging wordt genoemd.<\/p><p>Heiligmaking heeft als doel een christelijk karakter in ons te ontwikkelen door gehoorzaamheid in ons leven te bevorderen. Dit is wat Petrus bedoelde met de uitdrukking &quot;tot gehoorzaamheid en besprenkeling met het bloed van Jezus Christus&quot;. Dit brengt ons terug naar Exodus 13:2 en 24:3-8, waar de besprenkeling staat voor toewijding voor dienstbaarheid. De besprenkeling verwijst naar de toepassing van bloed in het Oude Testament om zonden te verzoenen. Het doel van de offers in het Oude Testament was niet alleen dat er bloed werd vergoten, maar ook dat het werd toegepast.<\/p><p>De kracht om een leven van gehoorzaamheid aan Christus te leiden, komt voort uit het besef van het werk dat de Heer Jezus Christus reeds heeft volbracht.<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>De kracht om voor Christus te leven vloeit voort uit onze positie in Christus, en is bedoeld om een leven te leiden tot Gods eer, zelfs te midden van alle tegenstand om ons
