Nu was ik nog nooit eerder bedroefd geweest in zijn aanwezigheid.<br \/><strong>Nehemia 2:1<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/div><div class=\"LIN-Text\"><p>Nehemia haast zich niet, maar wacht op de Heer. Hij wacht nu al vier maanden. Wachten is iets waar de meesten van ons niet zo goed in zijn \u2013 wachten, je afvragen wanneer de dingen zullen veranderen, wanneer er een deur open zal gaan, of wanneer onze omstandigheden zullen veranderen. We denken vaak dat wachten passief is, dat wachten betekent dat je niets doet. Maar in hoofdstuk 1:4-11 en hier in hoofdstuk 2:4 horen we wat Nehemia deed terwijl hij wachtte: hij was niet passief, hij bad! Nehemia was een man van gebed. Twaalf keer in dit boek lezen we dat hij bidt!<\/p><p>Nehemia diende voor de troon van koning Artaxerxes, maar bracht zijn zorgen voor de troon van God! Hij was nog nooit eerder verdrietig geweest in de aanwezigheid van de koning. Maar de koning merkte dat er iets Nehemia dwarszat. Nehemia was doodsbang, want je kon in de aanwezigheid van de koning alleen maar gelukkig zijn. Daar stond hij dan, met een gebroken hart voor de troon van de koning. Wat moest hij doen? Nehemia bracht zijn zorgen opnieuw naar een hogere troon! Hij betrad de troonzaal van God de Almachtige en wierp zijn zorgen op de God van de hemel!<\/p><p>Wat een lessen kunnen we leren van deze man van gebed! De koning zag verdriet op Nehemia&#039;s gezicht, maar de God van de hemel ziet het verdriet in het hart van ieder van ons! Toen de koning werd benaderd, gingen de mensen met angst en vrees naar binnen. Maar wij kunnen vandaag de dag vol vertrouwen de troon van genade naderen, opdat wij barmhartigheid mogen ontvangen en genade mogen vinden om ons te helpen in tijden van nood (Hebree\u00ebn 4:14-16). Gebed is niet de laatste optie; het is de enige optie en het is altijd de beste optie! We zouden net als Nehemia moeten zijn en er onze eerste keuze van maken!<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<br \/><\/strong><em>Wat een Vriend hebben we in Jezus! Hij draagt al onze zonden en smarten! <\/em><br \/><em>Wat een voorrecht om alles in gebed aan God voor te leggen! <\/em><br \/><em>O, wat een vrede verspelen we vaak!
