{"id":3616,"date":"2026-05-12T07:05:24","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T11:05:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anchorsforlife.org\/?p=3616"},"modified":"2026-05-12T07:07:54","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T11:07:54","slug":"doing-what-is-right","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anchorsforlife.org\/nl\/doing-what-is-right\/","title":{"rendered":"Het juiste doen"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"3616\" class=\"elementor elementor-3616\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-ead46ae elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"ead46ae\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-b5bf740\" data-id=\"b5bf740\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-23021a4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"23021a4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Doing What Is Right<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-906dfb7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"906dfb7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"LIN-HeadVerse\"><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>[Josiah] did what was right in the sight of the <span class=\"cLIN-SC\">Lord<\/span>, and walked in the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.<br \/><strong>2 Chronicles 34:2<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/div><div class=\"LIN-Text\"><p>Josiah joins the company of two other kings\u2014Jehoshaphat and Hezekiah\u2014of whom it is said, they \u201cdid what was right in the sight of the <span class=\"cLIN-SC\">Lord<\/span>.\u201d This idea of doing \u201cwhat was right\u201d is similar to what we find in Psalm 1, where we read, \u201cBlessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the <span class=\"cLIN-SC\">Lord<\/span>, and in His law he meditates day and night.\u201d The word \u201cblessed\u201d can be translated to \u201chappy.\u201d The path to a happy life is to do what is right in the sight of the Lord!<\/p><p>Obedience is the key to a fulfilled and satisfying life before the Lord. Anything less than complete obedience leaves a void in the heart, and we cannot find satisfaction and full contentment. The psalmist reminds us, \u201cYour word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You\u201d (Ps. 119:11).<\/p><p>This type of faith and obedience to the Word of God was found in Timothy, as we read in Paul\u2019s instruction to him: \u201cLet no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity\u201d (1\u00a0Tim. 4:12). Timothy had a heart to obey the Word of God, even from childhood (2\u00a0Tim. 3:15).<\/p><p>The similarities between Josiah and Timothy are many, and in both cases the Lord rewarded them because they responded to His Word. It is good to remember, \u201cthe eyes of the <span class=\"cLIN-SC\">Lord<\/span> run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him\u201d (2\u00a0Chr. 16:9).<\/p><p><strong>Anchor For Today:<\/strong><br \/>What about us today? What is our response to the Word of God?<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Doing
