In the second verse, we see that the Father sent His Son to seek and save for the specific purpose of producing worshiping people. We often think that the primary reason we have been redeemed is so that we might escape hell. That certainly is a wonderful benefit, but it is not the ultimate purpose. While we can and should enjoy the blessings we have in Christ, that should not be our main focus. We must not become so occupied with the blessings that we lose sight of the Blesser!<\/p><p data-start=\"864\" data-end=\"1233\">It may surprise us to realize that the supreme motive in our redemption is not for us to receive anything. We have been redeemed so that God may receive worship and that our lives might glorify Him. The apostle <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Paul the Apostle<\/span><\/span> expressed it this way: \u201cto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever\u201d (Eph. 3:21).<\/p><p data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1581\">In Romans 1:5, we see that the purpose of evangelism is \u201cobedience to the faith among all nations for His name\u2019s sake.\u201d The apostle <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">John the Apostle<\/span><\/span> echoes this in 3 John 7 when he states that missionaries went out to proclaim the gospel \u201cfor His name\u2019s sake.\u201d Our salvation is first and foremost for God\u2019s benefit, not ours.<\/p><p data-start=\"1583\" data-end=\"1802\">We certainly benefit and enjoy many blessings in salvation. However, all the blessings we receive are additional\u2014they are not the ultimate purpose. We are to seek to glorify God before we seek to gain anything from Him.<\/p><p data-start=\"1804\" data-end=\"2370\">This is what the Lord Jesus was teaching when He said, \u201cSeek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you\u201d (Matt. 6:33). Throughout the Bible, we see that God\u2019s primary activity has always been the seeking of true worshipers. In Revelation 19:1\u20135, we see the church in heaven declaring, \u201cAlleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments\u2026 Alleluia! \u2026 Amen! Alleluia! \u2026 Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!\u201d<\/p><p data-start=\"2372\" data-end=\"2592\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>The sole purpose of our being in heaven is that we might worship God rightly and forever.
