Dit is geen herhaling zonder doel; elke keer dat het genoemd wordt, wil de Geest van God ons een specifiek punt duidelijk maken.<\/p><p>Ten eerste lezen we in Hebree\u00ebn 1:3: &quot;Toen Hij door Zichzelf onze zonden had gereinigd, is Hij gaan zitten aan de rechterhand van de Majesteit in de hoogte.&quot; In deze context schetst de schrijver zeven heerlijkheden van de Heer Jezus; daarom kunnen we zeggen dat Hij is gaan zitten vanwege... <em>de glorie van Zijn Persoon<\/em>!<\/p><p>Vervolgens horen we in hetzelfde hoofdstuk de Vader zeggen: \u201cZit aan Mijn rechterhand, totdat Ik uw vijanden tot een voetbank voor u maak\u201d (1:13). Hier gaat Hij zitten vanwege <em>Zijn superioriteit<\/em>.<\/p><p>De derde verwijzing is het vers van vandaag. Hier gaat de Heer Jezus zitten vanwege... <em>Zijn volmaakte priesterschap<\/em>. Anders dan de Levieten hoefde de Heer Jezus geen offer te brengen voor Zijn eigen zonden; Zijn priesterschap is evenmin beperkt door de dood, want Hij leeft eeuwig!<\/p><p>Dit brengt ons bij de vierde keer dat er wordt vermeld dat onze Heer ging zitten: &quot;Maar deze Man, nadat Hij \u00e9\u00e9n offer voor de zonden voor altijd had gebracht, ging zitten aan de rechterhand van God&quot; (10:12). Hier zien we de Heer Jezus gaan zitten vanwege... <em>Zijn volmaakte offer<\/em>.<\/p><p>De vijfde en laatste keer dat we Christus zien zitten, is in hoofdstuk 12. Daar zien we Hem als <em>ons perfecte voorbeeld<\/em> Terwijl we deze race lopen die het christelijke leven heet, hebben we een doel in de hemel om ons op te richten: &quot;Onze blik gericht op Jezus, de auteur en volbrenger van ons geloof, die, omwille van de vreugde die Hem wachtte, het kruis heeft verdragen, de schande heeft veracht en nu aan de rechterhand van de troon van God zit&quot; (12:1-2). Mogen onze ogen en harten vandaag volledig op Hem gericht zijn!<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<br \/><\/strong><em>Onze grote Hogepriester zit aan Gods rechterhand daarboven., <\/em><br \/><em>Voor ons heft Hij Zijn handen op, vol medeleven en liefde; <\/em><br \/><em>Terwijl we hier beneden, in onze zwakte, onze weg voortsnellen; <\/em><br \/><em>In tijden van verdriet en ziekte zuchten en kreunen we vaak en bidden we.<\/em><br \/><em>-Lord Adalbert Percy Cecil<\/em><\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Object in Heaven We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens.
