Daarom, verhoogd tot de rechterhand van God\u2026 Laat daarom heel het huis van Isra\u00ebl er zeker van zijn dat God deze Jezus, die u gekruisigd hebt, tot Heer en Christus heeft gemaakt. <br \/><strong>Handelingen 2:32-33, 36<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"97\" data-end=\"681\">Alle vier de evangeli\u00ebn beschrijven het moment waarop Petrus zich klein maakte voor een jong dienstmeisje dat hem uitdaagde over de vraag of hij wel een volgeling van Christus was. Petrus ontkende de beschuldiging en verloochende daarmee de Heer Jezus. Dit gebeurde kort voordat Petrus op de Pinksterdag opstond en vol overtuiging Christus predikte! Petrus predikte wat we een Christusgerichte en Christusvervulde boodschap zouden kunnen noemen. Hij bracht Christus&#039; menswording (vers 22), Christus&#039; vernedering (vers 22), Christus&#039; kruisiging (vers 23), Christus&#039; opstanding (verzen 23-32), Christus&#039; verhoging (vers 33) en Christus&#039; verheerlijking (verzen 33-36) naar voren.<\/p><p data-start=\"683\" data-end=\"996\">Hoe kon Petrus, die eerst een lafaard was en zelfs niet voor een jong dienstmeisje durfde te verschijnen, nu voor een raad van geestelijken staan en de stoutmoedige uitspraken doen die in onze verzen staan, en het evangelie van Christus prediken zoals hij deed? Ik denk dat het antwoord te vinden is in de evangelieboodschap van Petrus zelf.<\/p><p data-start=\"998\" data-end=\"1294\">Het grootste deel van Petrus&#039; verkondiging van Christus concentreert zich op de opstanding (vv. 23-32). Petrus gebruikt de Schrift om aan te tonen dat de opstanding van Christus geen nieuw idee was, maar een idee dat al in Psalm 16 door David was geprofeteerd. Petrus&#039; boodschap was dus zowel een op Christus gerichte als een op de Schrift gebaseerde preek!<\/p><p data-start=\"1296\" data-end=\"1955\">Beide elementen gaven Petrus de moed om op te staan en te verkondigen wat hij wist dat waar was. Eerder in hoofdstuk 1 lezen we dat de Heer Jezus zich &quot;levend aan hen openbaarde na zijn lijden, door vele onweerlegbare bewijzen, en veertig dagen lang door hen gezien werd en sprak over de dingen die het koninkrijk van God betreffen&quot; (Handelingen 1:3). Hij had hen opgedragen naar Jeruzalem te gaan en te wachten op de belofte van de Vader \u2013 de komst van de Heilige Geest, die over hen zou komen en hen de kracht zou geven om getuigen te zijn, eerst in Jeruzalem, dan in heel Judea en Samaria, en tot aan de uiteinden van de aarde (Handelingen 1:4-8). Dit is precies wat er gebeurde terwijl ze aan het bidden waren (1:14; 2:1-4).<\/p><p data-start=\"1957\" data-end=\"2180\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Het was het zien van de opgestane Christus, het ontvangen van kracht door de Heilige Geest en het gebruik van het Woord van God dat Petrus veranderde \u2013 en datzelfde kan ons de moed geven om voor Christus te leven in een wereld die Hem heeft verworpen!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Cowardice to Courage: The Power of the Risen Christ This Jesus God has raised up,\u00a0of which we are all witnesses.
