Deze hoop is een direct gevolg van de genade van God in ons leven. De glorieuze verschijning is wanneer Christus na de zeven jaar van verdrukking terugkeert naar de aarde met de zijnen. Maar de gezegende hoop kan elk moment plaatsvinden! De wederkomst van Christus voor de zijnen is aanstaande!<\/p><p>Deze gezegende hoop is zeker! Er zijn er geweest die degenen die zo&#039;n hoop koesteren, hebben bespot en belachelijk gemaakt (2 Petrus 3:3-5), maar de Heer Jezus beloofde: &quot;Ik zal terugkomen en jullie tot Mij nemen, opdat jullie ook daar zullen zijn waar Ik ben&quot; (Johannes 14:3). Hij noemt dit vier keer tegen de apostel Johannes in het boek Openbaring (3:11; 22:7, 12, 20). Als iemand die zijn vertrouwen heeft gesteld in Zijn volbrachte werk aan het kruis, kun je rusten in de gezegende hoop dat Christus persoonlijk voor jou terugkomt! De Schrift is duidelijk: wanneer Hij terugkeert voor de zijnen, &quot;zal de Heer zelf uit de hemel neerdaal met een luide roep... En de doden in Christus zullen eerst opstaan. Daarna zullen wij, die nog leven en overgebleven zijn, samen met hen in de wolken worden opgenomen om de Heer in de lucht te ontmoeten&quot; (1 Thessalonicenzen 4:16-17).<\/p><p>We weten niet wanneer deze gezegende gebeurtenis zal plaatsvinden, maar we geloven met Paulus dat \u201conze redding dichterbij is dan toen we voor het eerst geloofden\u201d (Romeinen 13:11). Zijn komst zal plaatsvinden \u201cin een oogwenk, in een flits, bij de laatste bazuin \u2026 en de doden zullen onvergankelijk opgewekt worden, en wij zullen veranderd worden\u201d (1 Korinti\u00ebrs 15:52).<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Aangezien deze gezegende hoop op de wederkomst van Christus aanstaande en zeker is, mogen wij de tijd tot Zijn terugkeer ten volle
