Het Woord van God helpt ons te beseffen dat onze redding niet gebaseerd is op iets wat wij gedaan hebben om gered te worden of iets wat wij moeten doen om gered te blijven. De christelijke hoop is gebouwd op het fundament van het volbrachte werk van de Zoon van God aan het kruis!<\/p><p>Redding is een geschenk van God (Romeinen 6:23; Efezi\u00ebrs 2:8) aan hen die zich tot God wenden en geloven (Johannes 3:16; Romeinen 10:8-10). Redding wordt beloofd aan allen die erom vragen (Johannes 6:37), wat resulteert in een volledig vertrouwen in de Heer die het aanbiedt (Titus 1:2). Bovenop het solide fundament van het Woord van God hebben we de zekerheid van het zegel van de Heilige Geest. Dit zegel geeft ons zekerheid, zelfs als we ons misschien niet &#039;gered voelen&#039;.\u201c<\/p><p>Wanneer twijfels of ontmoediging opkomen, klampt de hoop zich vast aan de belofte van de Heilige Geest. We lezen in 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 1:21-22: &quot;Hij die ons samen met u in Christus bevestigt en ons gezalfd heeft, is God, die ons ook verzegeld heeft en ons de Geest in ons hart gegeven heeft als onderpand.&quot; De Geest van God is het onderpand van onze hoop. Dit is de wonderlijke hoop die het hart van de gelovige overspoelt: we zijn veilig in de handen van een liefdevolle Vader, verzekerd door het volbrachte werk van de Zoon, de Heer Jezus Christus, en verzegeld door de Heilige Geest die met onze geest getuigt dat we kinderen van God zijn. We worden &quot;door de kracht van God bewaard door het geloof tot redding, die in de laatste tijd geopenbaard zal worden&quot; (1 Petrus 1:5).<\/p><\/div><div class=\"LIN-ExtraText\"><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/><em>Deze hoge eer erven wij, Uw vrije gave door het bloed van Jezus;<\/em><br \/><em>God de Geest getuigt met onze geest dat wij kinderen van God zijn.<\/em><br \/><em><span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, 'Noto Sans', sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol', 'Noto Color Emoji';\">\u2013 R.
