Hoop op God!<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Geprezen zij God, de Vader van onze Heer Jezus Christus, die ons in zijn grote barmhartigheid opnieuw heeft verwekt tot een levende hoop door de opstanding van Jezus Christus uit de doden, tot een onvergankelijke en onbevlekte erfenis die niet vergaat, die in de hemel voor u is weggelegd.
<\/em>1 Petrus 1:3-4<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/div>

Petrus opent zijn eerste brief door ons te vertellen dat de wedergeboorte elke gelovige een levende hoop biedt door de opstanding van de Heer Jezus Christus. Waartoe leidt deze levende hoop ons? Romeinen 8:17 herinnert ons eraan dat we "erfgenamen van God" zijn, en deze waarheid is overal in het Nieuwe Testament te vinden (Efezi\u00ebrs 3:6; Titus 3:7).<\/p>

Wat houdt deze erfenis die ons is geschonken in? Ten eerste omvat het Christus' wederkomst voor ons (Joh. 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonicenzen 4:13-18). Het omvat de belofte van de opstanding (1 Kor. 15:20-23; Fil. 3:10-11). De beloften van eeuwig leven (Joh. 3:16; 1 Joh. 2:17), van een hemelse beloning (2 Kor. 5:10), van eeuwige rust (Heb. 4:1-11) en van een nieuwe hemel en een nieuwe aarde (2 Petr. 3:13; Openb. 21:1-2). Dit zijn slechts enkele van de beloften die we in Christus hebben. Maar we kunnen ons afvragen hoe deze beloften voor de toekomst zich verhouden tot ons leven nu?<\/p>

Omdat jij en ik in een levende hoop zijn opgenomen, kunnen we in elke situatie die we in het leven tegenkomen, vertrouwen op onze liefdevolle Vader. We weten dat we voor eeuwig van Hem zijn (Efezi\u00ebrs 1:13-14). Omdat we Hem toebehoren, zal Hij ons blijven beschermen, voor ons zorgen en ons laten groeien in ons geloof, zodat we gevormd worden naar het beeld van Zijn geliefde Zoon.<\/p>

We kunnen in dit leven door diepe wateren gaan, maar we mogen nooit vergeten dat we geboren zijn met een levende hoop in Christus, en dat deze diepe wateren ons worden toegestaan om ons te vormen naar Zijn beeld (Romeinen 8:28-29). Deze levende hoop is niet alleen voor de toekomst; ze is er ook voor wat je misschien wel op dit moment meemaakt!<\/p>
