Waarom is er dan geen herstel voor de gezondheid van de dochter van mijn volk?<br \/><strong>Jeremia 8:22<\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/div><div class=\"LIN-Text\"><p>Een balsem is een aromatische, medicinale substantie die van planten wordt gemaakt. Gilead was een gebied ten oosten van de Jordaan, bekend om zijn specerijen en zalven. De balsem van Gilead was een hoogwaardige zalf met helende eigenschappen, gemaakt van de hars van een bloeiende plant. Er zijn drie specifieke verwijzingen naar de &quot;balsem van Gilead&quot; in de Bijbel.<\/p><p>In Genesis 37:25 lezen we over de karavaan van Isma\u00eblieten die balsem uit Gilead in hun lading hadden. Hier in Jeremia 8 lezen we hoe God Juda waarschuwt voor wat Babylon hen zou aandoen, en bij het horen van dit nieuws klaagt Jeremia: &quot;Is er dan geen balsem in Gilead?&quot; Zijn vraag is een po\u00ebtische zoektocht naar hoop en genezing. Vervolgens zegt God in Jeremia 46:11, wanneer Hij het naderende oordeel over Egypte beschrijft: &quot;Ga naar Gilead en neem balsem, maagd, dochter van Egypte; tevergeefs zult u vele medicijnen gebruiken, want u zult niet genezen worden.&quot; In beide verzen in Jeremia beschrijft de profeet de pijn en hopeloosheid van Gods volk en van de wereld. Er is geen balsem en geen arts om de pijn en het verdriet te verzachten! De Heer Jezus Christus is werkelijk &quot;de balsem van Gilead&quot; voor gekwetste mensen. Hij is in staat hen te genezen!<\/p><p>De vraag in ons vers van vandaag is een retorische vraag, maar we kunnen ons afvragen waarom mensen niet voor genezing komen? Waarom zijn er zoveel gekwelde gelovigen vandaag de dag? Waarom komt de wereld niet naar de Grote Geneesheer om genezen te worden? Misschien beseffen velen hun ziekte niet, net als de mensen in Korinthe, waar de geestelijke gesteldheid laag was. Zij hadden een geestelijk onderzoek nodig, dat Paulus in zijn twee brieven geeft, en vervolgens spoort hij hen aan zichzelf te onderzoeken.<\/p><p><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Als er pijn en verdriet in je leven is, erken dan je behoefte en kom tot Christus voor genezing, want er is een balsem in Gilead voor jouw genezing, vandaag nog!<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Balm of Healing Is there no balm in Gilead, is there no physician there?
