Whom are you seeking?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Jesus said to her, \u201cWoman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?\u201d She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, \u201cSir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.\u201d Jesus said to her, \u201cMary!\u201d She turned and said to Him, \u201cRabboni!\u201d <\/em>
John 20:15\u201316<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

As we grow in the Lord and are occupied with Him, our affection for the Lord Jesus grows. But there are many things that can hinder and even block our vision of Him. This resurrection scene provides the antidote for hearts that have the vision of Christ hindered.<\/p>

The Lord appears to Mary, but at first she does not recognize who He is. Her heart is heavy with grief, burdened with care, and cast down with what we might even call despair. Her hope seems to be dashed and she is weeping! It is at that very moment the resurrected Lord appears to her. This touching scene is the very first resurrection appearance of our Lord, and it is to Mary who has a heavy heart! Oftentimes, when our hearts are heavy, we are not able to see that our Lord is an ever-present help in the time of trouble. It is not until He calls her name that her eyes are opened to who He is and her heart wants to cling to Him! But there was a question that was asked, which is an important question for each of us today: \u201cWhom are you seeking?\u201d<\/p>

The answer to such a question can lift the burdens that weigh us down in life. When we get a fresh view of who He is as the resurrected Savior, who has promised never to leave or forsake us, the Lord is able to bring us, as He does Mary, into the truth of an intimate relationship with Himself and with our Father. Hearing His voice, taking our eyes off of everything and everyone else, will bring joy and gladness to our hearts, even in difficult times.<\/p>
