Angst had zijn hart gegrepen, en wanneer er zulke angst is, is er geen kracht om tegen de stroom van de wereld om ons heen in te gaan. Een acroniem voor angst is: Angst is Ongelovige Energie en Terugtrekking. Paulus wilde dit niet voor Timote\u00fcs; hij wilde niet dat Timote\u00fcs zich voor Christus zou schamen. Paulus wijst Timote\u00fcs op een prachtige bron die elke gelovige heeft, namelijk de Mens in de Glorie! De term <em data-start=\"898\" data-end=\"912\">Christus Jezus<\/em> Het woord wordt minstens zeven keer gebruikt en verwijst naar de Heer Jezus in de hemel aan Gods rechterhand \u2013 een plaats van macht, gezag en hulpbron voor elke gelovige, ongeacht de chaos die er in hun cultuur heerst.<\/p><p data-start=\"1113\" data-end=\"1869\">Paulus begreep Timothe\u00fcs&#039; angst, maar hij moedigde hem aan door zijn eigen ervaring en vertrouwen te delen: &quot;Daarom lijd ik ook deze dingen; maar ik schaam me er niet voor, want ik weet in wie ik geloof en ik ben ervan overtuigd dat Hij in staat is om te bewaren wat ik Hem heb toevertrouwd tot die dag&quot; (2 Timothe\u00fcs 1:12). In dit vers herinnert Paulus Timothe\u00fcs \u2013 en ons \u2013 eraan dat we persoonlijke kennis van onze God nodig hebben. Hij zou kunnen zeggen: &quot;Ik weet in wie ik geloof.&quot; Vervolgens herinnert hij ons eraan dat er persoonlijke overtuiging moet zijn: &quot;Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat Hij in staat is om te bewaren.&quot; Ten derde moedigt Paulus ons aan om persoonlijke toewijding te hebben: &quot;Bewaar wat ik Hem heb toevertrouwd.&quot; Paulus&#039; vertrouwen was niet in zichzelf, maar in zijn God, die hiertoe in staat is! Dit spreekt van de kracht en macht van onze God.<\/p><p data-start=\"1871\" data-end=\"2616\">Wanneer we ons richten op Christus en Zijn kracht en macht, zullen we in staat zijn vast te houden aan het patroon van gezonde woorden (2 Timote\u00fcs 1:13). Het idee van een patroon van gezonde woorden geeft ons een soort raamwerk in gedachten en onderstreept het belang van weten wat we geloven en waarom we het geloven. Petrus herinnert ons, als volgelingen van Jezus Christus, eraan: &quot;Heilig de HEER God in uw hart en wees altijd bereid om aan ieder die u vraagt naar de reden van uw hoop, antwoord te geven met zachtmoedigheid en eerbied&quot; (1 Petrus 3:15). Om dit te kunnen doen, moeten we weten wat we geloven en waarom we het geloven. Dit is in onze huidige cultuur nog nooit zo belangrijk geweest.<\/p><p data-start=\"1871\" data-end=\"2616\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>De wereld heeft een duidelijke, beknopte boodschap van hoop nodig, en Christus is het antwoord op de chaos.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Be A Bold Witness \u201cTherefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,\u201d\u202d\u202d2 Timothy\u202c \u202d1\u202c:\u202d8\u202c\u00a0 Paul encourages Timothy not to be ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ, but to proclaim Him boldly.
