Ware nederigheid stelt gelovigen in staat hun trots opzij te zetten en anderen als gelijken te omarmen, waarmee ze het karakter van Christus weerspiegelen. Filippenzen 2:1-4 moedigt ons aan om anderen boven onszelf te stellen en hun belangen boven die van onszelf te beschouwen: &quot;Als er dan troost is in Christus, als er troost is door de liefde, als er gemeenschap is met de Geest, als er genegenheid en barmhartigheid is, vervul dan mijn vreugde door eensgezind te zijn, dezelfde liefde te hebben, \u00e9\u00e9n van hart en \u00e9\u00e9n van geest te zijn. Laat niets gedaan worden uit zelfzucht of hoogmoed, maar wees nederig en acht de ander hoger dan jezelf. Laat ieder van u niet alleen op zijn eigen belangen letten, maar ook op die van anderen.&quot;\u201c<\/p><p data-start=\"1207\" data-end=\"1675\">Dit is een prachtig voorbeeld van oprechte, christelijke liefde. Deze goddelijke liefde is de band die alles in volmaakte eenheid samenbindt: &quot;Maar bovenal, bekleed u met de liefde, want die is de band van de volmaaktheid&quot; (Kolossenzen 3:14).<\/p><p data-start=\"1207\" data-end=\"1675\">Deze onvoorwaardelijke, onbaatzuchtige liefde\u2014bekend als <em data-start=\"1486\" data-end=\"1493\">agap\u0113<\/em>\u2014stelt het welzijn van anderen boven eigenbelang. 1 Korinti\u00ebrs 13 benadrukt het belang van actief anderen liefhebben, zoals de Heer Jezus geboden heeft, zelfs als dat moeilijk is.<\/p><p data-start=\"1677\" data-end=\"2102\">Maar als er eenheid en oprechte liefde onder gelovigen moet zijn, dan is vergeving ook noodzakelijk. Onopgeloste conflicten en onvergevingsgezindheid vormen grote obstakels voor eenheid. De Schrift spoort ons aan om verzoening en vergeving prioriteit te geven wanneer er conflicten ontstaan: &quot;Verdraag elkaar en vergeef elkaar, als iemand een klacht tegen een ander heeft; zoals Christus u vergeven heeft, zo moet ook u doen&quot; (Kolossenzen 3:13).<\/p><p data-start=\"2104\" data-end=\"2388\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">We worden niet aan ons lot overgelaten \u2013 Christus geeft ons een bijbels model voor het oplossen van conflicten in Matte\u00fcs 5:23-26 en 18:15-17. Wanneer nederigheid, liefde en vergeving onze relaties beheersen, is eenheid niet alleen mogelijk, maar wordt het ook een krachtig getuigenis van Gods genade die in ons leven werkzaam is.<\/p><p data-start=\"2104\" data-end=\"2388\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<br \/><\/strong>Wees bereid om nederigheid, liefde en vergeving te tonen.
