Hij is naar het vlees ter dood gebracht, maar door de Geest levend gemaakt.\u201d<br \/><strong>1 Petrus 3:18\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p data-start=\"324\" data-end=\"741\">Verlossing was geen bijzaak. Het was al in Gods hart en gedachten aanwezig in de eeuwigheid. Voordat de tijd begon, lag het plan voor onze verlossing al vast \u2013 en in het centrum van dat plan staat de persoon en het werk van Gods geliefde Zoon, de Heer Jezus Christus. Wanneer we nadenken over het werk van Christus, wordt \u00e9\u00e9n waarheid wonderbaarlijk duidelijk: Hij stierf in onze plaats. De Heer Jezus Christus is onze Plaatsvervanger.<\/p><p data-start=\"743\" data-end=\"1275\">Terwijl het woord <em data-start=\"758\" data-end=\"772\">substitutie<\/em> Hoewel het zelf niet in de Bijbel voorkomt, is de waarheid ervan als een rode draad door de hele Schrift geweven. Een van de duidelijkste voorbeelden vinden we in het bekende verhaal in Genesis 22, toen Abraham, in gehoorzaamheid aan Gods bevel, Isaak meenam naar de berg Moria om hem als offer te brengen. Net toen hij op het punt stond te handelen, greep de Heer in, en een ram die in het struikgewas verstrikt was geraakt, werd het brandoffer \u2013 &quot;geofferd in plaats van zijn zoon&quot;. Die eenvoudige zin illustreert substitutie: de \u00e9\u00e9n neemt de plaats van de ander in.<\/p><p data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1745\">Dit brengt ons bij de vraag: waarom hebben we een plaatsvervanger nodig? De Bijbel laat ons hier niet in het ongewisse. Romeinen 3:23 zegt duidelijk: &quot;Allen hebben gezondigd en missen de heerlijkheid van God&quot;, en in hoofdstuk 6: &quot;Het loon van de zonde is de dood.&quot; Dit is de universele toestand van de mensheid: we staan allemaal schuldig voor een heilige God. Maar God zij dank heeft Hij een uitweg geboden: een Plaatsvervanger, die in onze plaats is getreden, ons oordeel heeft gedragen en de weg naar het eeuwige leven heeft geopend.<\/p><p data-start=\"2174\" data-end=\"2666\">In het Nieuwe Testament wordt het idee van plaatsvervanging weergegeven in uitdrukkingen als &#039;voor ons&#039; en &#039;in onze plaats&#039;. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan 2 Korinti\u00ebrs 5:21: <em data-start=\"2310\" data-end=\"2417\">\u201cWant Hij heeft Hem, die geen zonde kende, voor ons tot zonde gemaakt, opdat wij in Hem de gerechtigheid van God zouden worden.\u201d<\/em> Of 1 Petrus 3:18: <em data-start=\"2435\" data-end=\"2530\">\u201cChristus heeft ook eens geleden voor de zonden, de rechtvaardige voor de onrechtvaardigen, opdat Hij ons tot God zou brengen.\u201d<\/em> Dit zijn niet zomaar leerstellige verzen \u2013 ze zijn diep persoonlijk. Christus nam mijn plaats in. Hij droeg mijn zonden. Hij stond waar ik had moeten staan.<\/p><p data-start=\"3585\" data-end=\"3887\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Christus stierf in jouw plaats. Hij droeg jouw zonde, nam jouw schuld op zich en voldeed aan de goddelijke gerechtigheid, zodat jij tot God kon worden gebracht.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Christ Our Substitute \u201cFor Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,\u201d\u202d\u202d1 Peter\u202c \u202d3\u202c:\u202d18\u202c\u00a0 Salvation was not an afterthought.
