Laten we daarom beginnen met Psalm 34.<\/p><p data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"1089\">Deze psalm werd geschreven door David toen hij zich voordeed als een bezetene tegenover Abimelech, die hem vervolgens wegjoeg. David vertrok. De psalm begint met een oprechte groet van David aan God.<em data-start=\"734\" data-end=\"743\">vv. 1\u20133<\/em>), gevolgd door Davids focus op Gods veiligheid (<em data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"802\">vv. 4\u20137<\/em>), dan Gods voorziening (<em data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"838\">vv. 8\u201310<\/em>David vervolgt met het vermelden van Gods steun (<em data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"896\">vv. 11\u201319<\/em>), en besluit met Gods zekerheid (<em data-start=\"938\" data-end=\"949\">vv. 20\u201322<\/em>Maar midden in deze psalm zien we een prachtige nadruk op Gods goedheid \u2013 een van de belangrijkste dingen die Hij aan Zijn volk schenkt!<\/p><p data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1135\">Laten we vers 8 eens nader bekijken. Psalm 34:8 nodigt ons uit tot:<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1270\"><p data-start=\"1230\" data-end=\"1270\"><em data-start=\"1230\" data-end=\"1270\">\u201cProef en zie dat de Heer goed is.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><p data-start=\"1272\" data-end=\"1443\">De volgorde van deze zin maakt dat je de handeling proeft en het resultaat ziet. De Heer wil dat we al onze zintuigen gebruiken om Zijn goedheid werkelijk te ontdekken!<\/p><p data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1512\">Maar let op, in deze passage komen nog drie andere waarheden naar voren:<\/p><p data-start=\"1445\" data-end=\"1512\">Wij moeten onze toevlucht tot Hem nemen en gezegend worden.<br \/>Wij moeten de Heer vrezen en aan niets gebrek lijden.<br \/>Wij moeten de Heer zoeken en aan niets gebrek hebben.<\/p><p data-start=\"1675\" data-end=\"1864\">Toevlucht zoeken, de Heer vrezen en Hem zoeken zijn drie manieren om Hem te proeven \u2013 manieren om Hem te ervaren. Hoe nauwer we ons met Hem verbinden, hoe beter we Zijn goedheid zullen leren kennen.<\/p><p data-start=\"1866\" data-end=\"2068\">Hij spoort ons aan om Zijn goedheid te proeven \u2013 om die zelf te ervaren. Hij is het fundament van alle goedheid en alles wat werkelijk goed is. Zijn goedheid is de hoeksteen van al onze gedachten over Hem!<\/p><p data-start=\"1866\" data-end=\"2068\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/><em>Hoe goed is de God die wij aanbidden, onze trouwe, onveranderlijke Vriend: <\/em><br \/><em>Wiens liefde zo groot is als Zijn macht, en geen grenzen kent noch beperkingen!<br \/>\u2013 Joseph Hart<\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Goodness of God \u201cTaste and see that the Lord is good\u201d Psalm 34:8 There is great encouragement in looking at who our God is\u2014not only to consider the things about Him that we\u2019ll never fully understand, but also to reflect on what He has revealed to us in His Word.
