Bewijs van heiliging<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\u201copdat Hij haar zou heiligen en reinigen door de waterdoop met het woord.\u201d
Efezi\u00ebrs 5:26<\/strong><\/p>

Ware heiliging, wanneer die in de praktijk wordt gebracht, be\u00efnvloedt ons gedrag \u2013 niet alleen onze woorden. Door wandeling<\/em>, We bedoelen hiermee ons gedrag en onze houding. Dit is wat de apostel Johannes voor ogen had toen hij 1 Johannes schreef. Hij schrijft als iemand die de werkelijkheid in het christelijke leven zoekt en ons instrueert om niet... \u201cLiefde in woord of met de tong, maar in daad en in waarheid.\u201d<\/em> (1 Johannes 3:18). Eerder in hetzelfde hoofdstuk herinnert hij ons eraan:<\/p>

\u201cGeliefden, nu zijn wij kinderen van God; en het is nog niet geopenbaard wat wij zullen zijn, maar wij weten dat wanneer Hij geopenbaard wordt, wij Hem gelijk zullen zijn, want wij zullen Hem zien zoals Hij is. En ieder die deze hoop op Hem heeft, reinigt zichzelf, zoals Hij rein is.\u201d <\/em>1 Johannes 3:2-3<\/p><\/blockquote>

Simpel gezegd: onze woorden moeten worden ondersteund door onze daden. Zoals critici van het christendom vaak hebben gezegd:, \u201cWat je doet spreekt zo luid, dat ik niet kan horen wat je zegt.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Een ander bewijs van een geheiligd leven is dat het niet alleen op gevoelens is gebaseerd, maar veeleer op het in ons ingeplante Woord van God.<\/p>

De Heer Jezus beschreef dit soort leven in de gelijkenis van de zaaier:<\/p>

\u201cMaar hij die het zaad op de stenige grond ontving, die hoort het woord en neemt het meteen met vreugde aan, maar hij heeft geen wortel in zichzelf en houdt het slechts een tijdje vol. Want wanneer er verdrukking of vervolging komt vanwege het woord, struikelt hij meteen.\u201d <\/em>Matte\u00fcs 13:20-21<\/p><\/blockquote>

Paulus bad voor de gelovigen in Efeze, dat zij zouden \u201cWees geworteld en gegrondvest in de liefde\u201d<\/em> (Efezi\u00ebrs 3:17). Hij sprak ook over het belang van leerstellige stabiliteit en waarschuwde ervoor om \u201cheen en weer geslingerd door elke wind van leerstellingen\u201d<\/em>(Efezi\u00ebrs 4). Op verschillende plaatsen benadrukt Paulus het belang van stabiliteit en standvastigheid \u2013 eigenschappen die niet voortkomen uit emotionele hoogtepunten, maar uit een stevige verankering in het Woord van God.<\/p>

Een geheiligd leven is de voortdurende transformatie die in ons plaatsvindt door de kracht van de Heilige Geest. Het gaat niet alleen om uiterlijk alle juiste dingen te doen.<\/p>

Iemand kan elke bijeenkomst bijwonen, deelnemen aan het avondmaal, zich netjes kleden en er voorbeeldig uitzien \u2013 maar als hij of zij geen leven van liefde voor zijn of haar medemens leidt, ontbreekt er iets. Kwaadspreken over anderen of bitterheid koesteren is een duidelijk teken dat het hart niet werkelijk aan Christus is toegewijd.<\/p>

Als dat zo was, zou het het karakter van Christus weerspiegelen \u2013 uitgedrukt door liefde, nederigheid, vergeving en genade.<\/p>

Als we tijd doorbrengen met het Woord van God, werkt de Heilige Geest in ons om ons te heiligen en het karakter van Christus in ons te vormen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
