Kostbare Naam \u2013 Gegeven uit de Hemel<\/strong><\/p>

Deze naam is kostbaar omdat hij niet door Maria of Jozef is gegeven. Het was geen familienaam die van generatie op generatie werd doorgegeven. De naam Jezus werd Hem vanuit de hemel gegeven!<\/p>

De engel gaf Maria eerst de naam 'Jezus', en vervolgens in Matte\u00fcs 1:21<\/em>, aan Jozef. In het hele Evangelie van Johannes bevestigt de Heer Jezus herhaaldelijk dat Hij uit de hemel is neergedaald (Johannes 3:13; 4:34; 6:41, 51, 58<\/em>Hij is van de Vader neergedaald, en zo ook Zijn kostbare naam \u2013 en de Vader kent de waarde van die naam!<\/p>

Kostbare naam \u2013 Groot in de geschiedenis<\/strong><\/p>

Jezus is de Griekse vorm van de Hebreeuwse naam. Jesjoea<\/em>, wat gelijk is aan Jozua<\/em> Het komt voor in het Oude Testament en betekent "Jehova is redding".\u201c<\/p>

Twee opmerkelijke mannen met de naam Jozua in het Oude Testament illustreren de genade die te vinden is in onze Heer Jezus Christus:<\/p>

  1. Joshua, zoon van Nun<\/strong> Hij leidde Gods volk naar het Beloofde Land, in navolging van Mozes, de wetgever. Jozua is een krachtig beeld van Gods genade in actie. Mozes, die de wet vertegenwoordigde, kon het land van rust niet binnengaan; evenzo kan de wet geen geestelijke rust brengen. Maar Jezus nodigt ons uit: \u201cKom naar Mij, allen die vermoeid en belast zijn, en Ik zal jullie rust geven. <\/span>Neem Mijn juk op je en leer van Mij, want Ik ben zachtmoedig en nederig van hart, en je zult rust vinden voor je ziel.\u201d<\/span>Matte\u00fcs 11:28-29<\/em>) <\/span>Hij kon dit zeggen omdat Hij was \u201cvol genade en waarheid\u201d<\/em> (Johannes 1:14<\/em>), voor: \u201cDe wet werd gegeven door Mozes, maar genade en waarheid kwamen door Jezus Christus.\u201d<\/span>Johannes 1:17<\/em>).<\/span><\/p><\/li>

  2. Jozua, de priester in Zacharia 3<\/strong> \u2013 Deze Jozua schoot tekort, wat onze menselijke zwakheid symboliseert. Toch wijst hij ons ook de weg naar onze Grote Hogepriester, die nu aan de rechterhand van de Majesteit in de hemel zit.Hebree\u00ebn 4:14<\/em>): \u201cMaar wij zien Jezus, die een weinige keer lager dan de engelen was, gekroond met heerlijkheid en eer, om de dood te lijden en te ondergaan, opdat Hij door de genade van God de dood zou smaken voor iedereen.\u201d<\/span>Hebree\u00ebn 2:9<\/em>)<\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ol>

    Kostbare Naam \u2013 Glorievol in Eer<\/strong><\/p>

    Paulus verklaart deze waarheid zonder enige dubbelzinnigheid in Filippenzen 2:5-11 <\/em>waarin hij stelt: \u201cDaarom heeft God Hem ook hoog verheven en Hem de naam gegeven die boven alle namen is\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>

    Hoewel "Jezus" in die cultuur misschien een veelvoorkomende naam was, is de betekenis van die naam, vanwege wie Hij is en wat Hij heeft volbracht, nooit hetzelfde gebleven. God de Vader heeft de naam van Jezus verheven, geprezen en verheerlijkt!<\/p>

    Kostbare Naam \u2013 Genadige Hulp<\/strong><\/p>

    De blinde Bartime\u00fcs vond in de naam van Jezus een bron van genadevolle hulp en riep uit: \u201cJezus, Zoon van David, heb medelijden met mij!\u201d<\/span>Marcus 10:47<\/em>)<\/span><\/p>

    Ook vandaag de dag kunnen jij en ik nog steeds tot de Heer Jezus Christus roepen en hulp vinden in tijden van nood. Dezelfde barmhartigheid (liefdevolle goedheid) die Bartime\u00fcs vond, vinden wij bij de genadetroon van Christus. \u201cWant wij hebben geen hogepriester die geen medelijden kan hebben met onze zwakheden, <\/span>maar werd in alle opzichten verzocht zoals wij, maar zonder te zondigen. <\/span>Laten wij daarom vol vertrouwen tot de troon der genade naderen, opdat wij barmhartigheid ontvangen en genade vinden om ons te helpen in tijden van nood.\u201dHebree\u00ebn 4:15-16<\/em>)<\/p>
