There we read that Enoch walked with God. There are only about seven or eight verses in the entire Bible that speak of Enoch, but when we examine them, we see a man who waited on the Lord and walked with Him.<\/p><p data-start=\"464\" data-end=\"809\">In <em data-start=\"467\" data-end=\"481\">Genesis 5:24<\/em>, we are told that Enoch walked with God. In <em data-start=\"526\" data-end=\"540\">Hebrews 11:5<\/em>, we learn that he was pleasing to God, and in <em data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"599\">Jude 14\u201315<\/em>, we are told that he was a witness for God. I would suggest that the order of these truths is important: a life that walks with God is pleasing to Him, and only a person who walks with God can truly serve Him.<\/p><p data-start=\"811\" data-end=\"1040\">Enoch was not conformed to this world\u2014we know this because his life pleased the Lord. <em data-start=\"897\" data-end=\"934\">\u201cDo not be conformed to this world\u201d<\/em> (Rom. 12:1\u20132). Don\u2019t let this world squeeze you into its mold. Walk with the Lord and live to please Him!<\/p><p data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1263\">Enoch was not controlled by this world; he served the Lord. Your education, your occupation, and your marriage should never control you. Instead, they should be tools God uses to help you live in a way that glorifies Him.<\/p><p data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1526\">Enoch was not condemned with the world, but the Lord took him out before the judgment that followed. <em data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1380\">Genesis 5:24 <\/em>says that Enoch <em data-start=\"1397\" data-end=\"1427\">\u201cwas not, for God took him.\u201d<\/em> The Bible does not tell us exactly how God took him, but <em data-start=\"1485\" data-end=\"1499\">Hebrews 11:5 <\/em>sheds light on this event:<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"1715\"><p data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1715\"><em data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1715\">\u201cBy faith Enoch was translated so that he did not see death, and was not found, because God had translated him; for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><p data-start=\"1717\" data-end=\"2013\">The word translated as \u201ctranslated\u201d comes from the Greek <em data-start=\"1778\" data-end=\"1791\">metatith\u0113mi<\/em>, meaning <em data-start=\"1801\" data-end=\"1843\">to transfer, to change, or to carry over<\/em>. This word is used only six times in the New Testament and is translated in various ways, such as <em data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"1996\">\u201cwere carried over,\u201d \u201care removed,\u201d \u201cbeing changed,\u201d<\/em> and <em data-start=\"2001\" data-end=\"2013\">\u201cturning.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"2015\" data-end=\"2162\">This provides a beautiful picture of the rapture of the church, when the Lord Jesus returns for His people (1 Cor. 15:51\u201354; 1 Thess. 4:13\u201318).<\/p><p data-start=\"2164\" data-end=\"2439\">As you move forward from this point in your life, there will be many opportunities\u2014some good and some not so good. But if you walk with the Lord and never become complacent in your pursuit of Christ, you will find satisfaction, joy, and meaning that can only be found in Him.<\/p><p data-start=\"2441\" data-end=\"2500\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Pursue Christ.
