Jij en ik kunnen niet groeien als christenen zonder dit boek te lezen en zonder dat dit boek in ons is.<\/p><p data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"697\">Job heeft zich aangemeld, <em data-start=\"452\" data-end=\"577\">\u201cIk ben niet afgeweken van het gebod van Zijn lippen; ik heb de woorden van Zijn mond meer gekoesterd dan mijn noodzakelijke voedsel.\u201d<\/em> (Job 23:12). De psalmist zei:, <em data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"683\">\u201cUw woord heb ik in mijn hart bewaard, opdat ik niet tegen U zou zondigen.\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 119:11).<\/p><p data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"783\">Onze houding ten opzichte van dit boek zal de spirituele groei van ieder van ons bepalen.<\/p><p data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"1208\">William Tyndale gaf zijn leven voor dit boek toen hij op de brandstapel werd verbrand omdat hij vasthield aan de waarheid die in de Bijbel te vinden is. Hij stierf op slechts twee\u00ebnveertigjarige leeftijd op 6 oktober 1536. Zijn laatste woorden waren gedeeltelijk een citaat uit Psalm 119:18.<em data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1090\">\u201cOpen mijn ogen, opdat ik de wonderen van Uw wet mag zien.\u201d<\/em>\u2014behalve dat Tyndale bad, <em data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1208\">\u201cOpen de ogen van de koning van Engeland, opdat hij de wonderen van Uw wet mag zien.\u201d<\/em><\/p><p data-start=\"1210\" data-end=\"1475\">Zijn gebed werd twee jaar later verhoord toen koning Hendrik VIII beval dat de door Miles Coverdale vertaalde Bijbel in elke parochie van Engeland gebruikt moest worden. De Coverdale-Bijbel was grotendeels gebaseerd op het werk van William Tyndale, en in 1539 werd de Tyndale-Bijbel gepubliceerd.<\/p><p data-start=\"1477\" data-end=\"1515\">Wat is onze houding ten opzichte van de Bijbel?<\/p><p data-start=\"1517\" data-end=\"1874\">De psalmist zei:, <em data-start=\"1536\" data-end=\"1593\">\u201cUw woord is een lamp voor mijn voeten en een licht op mijn pad.\u201d<\/em> (Psalm 119:105). In Psalm 19 zien we uit eerste hand wat Davids houding ten opzichte van het Woord van God was. Lees die psalm eens goed door en let op de zes titels van het Woord van God, de zes beschrijvingen van wat het is en de zes effecten van wat het doet. Het is nuttig om te zien hoe de psalmist deze waarheden voor ons uiteenzet.<\/p><p data-start=\"2632\" data-end=\"2826\">We moeten dezelfde houding ten opzichte van de Schrift hebben als Jeremia. Hij zei:, <em data-start=\"2711\" data-end=\"2812\">\u201cUw woorden werden gevonden, en ik at ze op, en uw woord was voor mij de vreugde en de blijdschap van mijn hart\u2026\u201d<\/em> (Jeremia 15:16).<\/p><p data-start=\"2632\" data-end=\"2826\"><strong>Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong><br \/>Besteed tijd aan het Woord van God en laat het Woord rijkelijk in je wonen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sweeter Than Honey \u201cMore to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.\u201d\u202d\u202dPsalms\u202c \u202d19\u202c:\u202d10\u202c Each time we open this Book, we must approach it with reverence and respect\u2014it is the very Word of God!
