The Right Gift at the Right Time<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, \u201cAbba, Father!\u201d\u00a0
Galatians 4:4\u20136<\/strong><\/em><\/p>

When buying a gift for someone, we want to give the right<\/em> gift for that person. When God gave His only begotten Son, He gave the right gift to meet the spiritual needs of every one of us. He wrapped Him perfectly in a human body: \u201cSacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me\u201d<\/em> (Hebrews 10:5). \u201cAnd the Word became flesh and dwelt among us\u201d<\/em> (John 1:14).<\/p>

As we read these verses, one of the first things that stands out is that all three members of the Trinity are involved in giving this gift of salvation: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.<\/p>

The Son was sent from the Father\u2019s side in eternity as a gift, and He was sent at the exact, precise, and perfect time. We sometimes sing:<\/p>

God in mercy sent His Son
To a world by sin undone;
Jesus Christ was crucified,
\u2019Twas for sinners Jesus died.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>

God the Father, in His wisdom, determined the perfect moment to send His Son into the world. The Lord Jesus was born in the fullness of time<\/em>. This means that God sent Him at the exact moment in human history. God had directed all the events of history toward that very moment.<\/p>

The Son was sent with divine authority and a clear commission to accomplish the work the Father gave Him to do. In the Gospel of John alone, we read more than forty times that the Father sent the Son. The Son became truly human\u2014born of a woman and born under the law. He possessed a real human body and nature, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15).<\/p>

We read, \u201cFor He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him\u201d<\/em> (2 Corinthians 5:21), and again, \u201cChrist also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth\u201d<\/em> (1 Peter 2:21\u201322). John reminds us, \u201cAnd you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin\u201d<\/em> (1 John 3:5).<\/p>
