The Greatest GIft<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16<\/strong>
<\/em><\/p>

This time of year, shopping centers are busy with people buying gifts for their loved ones. In all the hustle and bustle, it is good to pause and remember the most special gift of all\u2014a gift that was not bought, but freely given and shared with us: the gift of God\u2019s beloved Son. Paul declares, \u201cThanks be to God for His indescribable gift!\u201d<\/em> (2 Corinthians 9:15).<\/p>

Pausing to consider this wonderful gift can help us regain perspective in our daily lives. It is good to remember these words:
\u201cWhat then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?\u201d<\/em> (Romans 8:31\u201332).<\/p>

If God has taken care of our greatest need\u2014salvation\u2014through the gift of His Son, will He not also take care of every other need? Of course He will! But just as with our salvation, we must trust Him. The celebration of our Savior\u2019s birth is a fresh reminder to trust our loving Father, who sent His Son to give His life as a ransom for us on the Cross. That same Son now sits at the Father\u2019s right hand as our Priest and loving Savior, and one day He will be revealed as the King of kings and Lord of lords.<\/p>

Reflecting on this gift helps us live faithfully from day to day in a dark and confusing world. Paul expresses it beautifully:
\u201cFor the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works\u201d<\/em> (Titus 2:11\u201314).<\/p>

Because of this gift, we can live today with hope for tomorrow\u2014a hope that points us to the return of the One who first came as a baby in a manger, and who will return again, not in humility, but in glory as the conquering King.<\/p>
