Het doel van de geboorte van Christus<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Dit is een betrouwbaar woord en verdient alle aanvaarding: Christus Jezus is in de wereld gekomen om zondaren te redden, van wie ik de voornaamste ben.
1 Timote\u00fcs 1:15<\/strong>
<\/em><\/p>

Er zit meer achter dit vers dan op het eerste gezicht lijkt. In dit gedeelte van 1 Timote\u00fcs spreekt Paulus over de genade van God. Hij heeft de grootheid van Gods genade al benadrukt in de verzen 12-13, omdat die hem in de bediening had geplaatst, ondanks dat hij de kerk had vervolgd als een godslasteraar en een onbeschaamde man. Vervolgens verkondigt hij in vers 14:, \u201cEn de genade van onze Heer was buitengewoon overvloedig, samen met het geloof en de liefde die in Christus Jezus zijn.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

De genade van God had Paulus' hart en leven gegrepen, en nu kan hij zeggen:, \u201cDit is een betrouwbaar woord en verdient alle aanvaarding: Christus Jezus is in de wereld gekomen om zondaren te redden, van wie ik de voornaamste ben.\u201d<\/em> De uitdrukking \u201cbetrouwbare uitspraak en alle acceptatie waardig\u201d<\/em> Deze uitdrukking is uniek voor de Pastorale Brieven en komt vijf keer voor (1 Timote\u00fcs 1:15; 3:1; 4:9; 2 Timote\u00fcs 2:11; Titus 3:8). Paulus gebruikte deze uitdrukking om het belang van belangrijke leerstellingen te benadrukken.<\/p>

Hier stelt Paulus Christus Jezus voor ons neer.Christus<\/em>, de Gezalfde, en Jezus<\/em>, Zijn menselijke naam \u2013 gegeven omdat Hij kwam \u201com Zijn volk te redden van hun zonden\u201d<\/em> (Matte\u00fcs 1:21). Het feit dat Hij kwam<\/em> Dit betekent dat Hij bestond voordat Hij kwam. Als de eeuwige Zoon van God is Christus de wereld binnengegaan (Johannes 1:9; 3:19; 6:14; 11:27; 12:46; 16:28; 18:37). Johannes benadrukt herhaaldelijk in zijn evangelie dat Jezus uit de hemel is neergedaald. Dit is de genade van God die redding brengt en aan alle mensen is verschenen (Titus 2:11). Paulus verklaart dat deze waarheid universeel aanvaardbaar is.<\/p>

In Lucas 19:10 zei de Heer Jezus:, \u201cWant de Mensenzoon is gekomen om te zoeken en te redden wat verloren was.\u201d<\/em> In Matte\u00fcs 9:13 zei Hij:, \u201cIk ben niet gekomen om de rechtvaardigen te roepen, maar de zondaars.\u201d<\/em> In Johannes 12:46 verklaarde onze Heer:, \u201cIk ben als een licht in de wereld gekomen.\u201d<\/em> In Johannes 3:16-17 lezen we:, \u201cWant zo lief heeft God de wereld gehad, dat Hij Zijn eniggeboren Zoon gegeven heeft, opdat ieder die in Hem gelooft, niet verloren gaat, maar eeuwig leven heeft. Want God heeft Zijn Zoon niet naar de wereld gezonden om de wereld te veroordelen, maar opdat de wereld door Hem gered zou worden.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

De Bijbel vertelt ons dat \u201cAllen hebben gezondigd en missen de heerlijkheid van God.\u201d<\/em> En Christus kwam in de wereld om zondaren te redden. De genade van God is krachtig genoeg om ons te verlossen van de slavenmarkt van de zonde en om... \u201cMaak alles nieuw\u201d,\u201d<\/em> Hij maakt ons tot nieuwe scheppingen in Christus Jezus. God aanvaardt ons niet alleen in de Geliefde, maar Hij verlangt er ook naar ons te gebruiken tot Zijn glorie \u2013 net zoals Hij met Paulus deed.<\/p>

Hoe reageren wij op de genade van God in ons leven?<\/p>

Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong>
Hoewel de zondeval van onze natuur in Adam ons van God leek af te sluiten,<\/em>
Zo bracht Zijn raad ons nog dichter bij Hem door het bloed van Jezus;<\/em>
Want in Hem hebben wij verlossing gevonden, genade en heerlijkheid in de Zoon;<\/em>
O, de hoogte en diepte van barmhartigheid! Christus en wij zijn door genade \u00e9\u00e9n.<\/em>
