En plotseling was er bij de engel een menigte van de hemelse legermachten die God prezen en zeiden: \u201cEer aan God in de hoogste hemel, en vrede op aarde, en welbehagen onder de mensen!\u201d

<\/em><\/p>

We horen veel over 'vrede op aarde' in deze tijd van het jaar. We horen het in liedjes en zien het op kerstkaarten, maar in werkelijkheid zien we het niet op veel gezichten. Vrede is iets wat iedereen verlangt, maar weinigen lijken het te vinden. Vrede wordt wel omschreven als 'rust, harmonie of veiligheid', maar we weten dat er veel meer achter vrede schuilt dan een simpele definitie.<\/p>

Vrede kan alleen in ons hart komen als we in een goede relatie met God staan. De Heer Jezus ging naar het kruis en nam de straf voor onze vrede op Zich (Jesaja 53:5), waardoor het voor ons mogelijk werd om vrede met God te hebben. Paulus herinnert ons eraan:, \u201cDaarom, gerechtvaardigd door het geloof, hebben wij vrede met God door onze Heer Jezus Christus.\u201d<\/em> (Romeinen 5:1).<\/p>

Vrede met God hebben is de eerste stap om Gods vrede in ons hart te ervaren, en God verlangt ernaar dat deze vrede ons leven vult. Voor velen is dit een vreemd concept, maar in Filippenzen 4:6-7 lezen we: \u201cWees niet bezorgd over iets, maar laat in alles door gebed en smeekbede, met dankzegging, uw verzoeken aan God bekend worden; en de vrede van God, die alle begrip te boven gaat, zal uw harten en gedachten bewaren in Christus Jezus.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

De zorgen van het leven, de stress van de omstandigheden en de angst voor het onbekende beroven veel gelovigen van de vrede van God \u2013 juist die vrede die in staat is om onze harten en gedachten te beschermen. Hoe is dat mogelijk in de wereld waarin we leven? E\u00e9n manier is door bewust te zijn van wat onze gedachten bezighoudt. Daarom zegt Paulus verder: \u201cTen slotte, broeders, al wat waar is, al wat edel is, al wat rechtvaardig is, al wat rein is, al wat lieflijk is, al wat een goede naam heeft, al wat deugdzaam is en al wat prijzenswaardig is, denk daarover na. Wat u van mij hebt geleerd, ontvangen, gehoord en gezien, doe dat, en de God van de vrede zal met u zijn.\u201d <\/em><\/p>

Ankerpunt voor vandaag:<\/strong>
We kunnen de aanwezigheid van de God van de vrede ervaren door onze gedachten en harten met Hem te vullen! Dit is een manier om "de vrede van God in uw harten te laten heersen, waartoe u ook geroepen bent als \u00e9\u00e9n lichaam; en wees dankbaar."\u201c<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
